The effect of fertilizers on plant growth Introduction: The increased human population has necessitated the optimization of yields obtained from food plants (Huifeng, Zhenghui and Qiangsheng). One way to do this is by using fertilizers. These supply plants with important nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus (Kayuki, Byalebekaa and Semalulua). These nutrients play various roles in plant growth. Nitrogen aids in grain formation in cereals (Huifeng, Zhenghui and Qiangsheng). Phosphorus helps in nodule formation in legumes such as beans (Pachecoa, Britoa and Straliotto). This experiment analyzes the effect of fertilizers on plant growth by measuring parameters such as shoot height, stem diameter and root length in two groups of the same plant grown over two months: one grown with fertilizers, and the other without.
This experiment required healthy maize seeds, two plots measuring 2.5m x 2.5m with fertile soil and adequate sunlight, water and ammonium nitrate fertilizer.
In one plot, sixteen equidistant holes were dug to a depth of around 20cm. The spacing between the holes was 0.5m. Into each hole, a maize seed was placed. The hole was then covered with soil and compacted gently. In the second plot, sixteen equidistant holes were dug to a depth of 20 cm. The spacing between the holes was also 20cm. One seed was placed into each hole, along with a little fertilizer. Caution was observed to ensure the fertilizer did not come into contact with the seeds. The holes were then covered with soil and then compacted gently. The plots were adequately watered each day. After two months, the shoot heights, root length and stem diameter of the plants were measured and recorded. Using the measurements, the root/shoot ratios were determined for the two groups of plants.
Expected results:
The results obtained should support the idea that fertilizers accelerate plant growth by providing the essential nutrients. The measurements made will indicate that the maize plants grown with fertilizers have taller shoots, larger stem diameters and longer roots compared to those grown without fertilizers. The root/shoot ratios for the two groups of plants will not be largely different because the shorter roots are compensated for by the shorter shoots, and taller shoots compensate for by the deeper roots.

Methodology a guide and at the same time a process, thru which a researcher may be able to evaluate, appraise, and analyze a research study. It specifically measure if the material is valid, if it has been conducted properly, and if the data is applicable. The most important part of a research study that will be appraised is the methodology part, thus journals containing only the abstract cannot be used in the current study. Although abstracts have information on the process and methods used, it simply is not comprehensive. The first category focusing on the research design, the data will be criticized based on the following questions: 1. Is the research title defined and apt? Does it give you a clear idea about...

...?Methodology Research Methodology and Design Methodology means the methods by which the information is investigated, gathered and analyzed. In other words, it means the way in which the investigator decides to propose to undertake the research. Deciding on a specific methodology for a research is essential for successful output of a research (Bartlett, Kotrlik and Higgins 2001). The researcher has to opt for a methodology design by investigating the requirements of the research. Light experiment a row. It is a common component of fresh water plankton, which is most commonly used in the experimental purposes of water pollution and photosynthesis. It is also crucial in the process of sewage purification because it releases oxygen, which is necessary for the breakdown of organic matter, hence terminates the functions of harmful substances. In this project, we get to experiment on the growth conditions and developments. The main elements in test here will be light and pH since we discovered that the plant grows well under neutral pH. The main methodology in this project is to grow one experimental set in direct sunlight while the other will be places under no sunlight. The main...

...1 Assignment 2 The hypothesis of my proposal is "Children who have high self-efficacy in softball are more likely to play baseball in a park district league." With this hypothesis, I am proposing the Nonequivalent Groups Design, or NEGD specifically for this experiment. This experiment intends to measure the amount of self-efficacy of the children towards playing softball. Moreover, it also intends to find out if those children that show high efficacy would like to play softball as a formal team or not. In this study therefore, the group that is used as a sample is intact and similar as the treatment and control groups. According to William M.K. Trochim, in this type of research design the most often...

In the result, amalgamation of outcomes of both methods will allow the researcher to relate both results and come up with a critical clarification of the effects of globalization. To sum up, previous studies have been limiting their methodologies to either qualitative or either quantitative that results in restriction of outcomes to only single perspective. In this regard, the proposed research will include both methods, and thus, will be comprehensive in terms of understanding. References Balnaves, Mark, & Caputi, Peter. (2001). Introduction...

...Methodology One of the most common methods to estimate inventory is the retail inventory method. Many popular retailers use this method because it isso accurate and allows inventory to be forecasted so that products are always on the shelf and ready for purchasing. In order to satisfy customer demand, there are three components that must be completed to determine the appropriate levels of inventory. First, the overall cost and retail value of the goods that have been purchased need to be known. Second, the firm needs to know those same variables for the goods that are available for sale. Finally, the total amount of sales for the preceding period is also needed. With all these figures, it can be possible to determine a system... One of the...
