The amount of erosion depends entirely on the type of atmosphere that a planet has.It takes a certain amount of gravity to hold an atmosphere in the place. The size of the planet also depends on how well it can hang onto its atmosphere. Therefore, a massive planet will have no problem keeping its atmosphere together; it is because of this that erosional activity will be able to take place. Erosional activity is based on the atmosphere to a planet; a larger planet, especially one closer to the Sun, will be able to hold its atmosphere together enough to experience erosional activity.
