Their vast and broad information about town planning issues in some states, they are given the responsibility to certify subdivisions and provide certificates on town planning. There exist a provision in Building Act thereby creating the roles of the private and the municipal Building Surveyors. Municipal building surveyors are the employees of the Council while a private Building Surveyor is one who operates as a private entity. Their knowledge and expertise is highly demanded by the professions allied to the building and construction of projects like the engineers, architects, town planner and the design teams. The interaction becomes absolutely essential since the success of the construction is never a one man’s show as the coordination of every department of the teams in the construction project is counting and equally important in the whole process. Qualification to be A Building Surveyor It is generally of essence that the building surveyors to have a university degree (Bachelor of Science in Building Surveying) before any undertaking in structured training to be a member of professional organization (MRICS).
