The today’s capitalists are the owners of big means of production that is characterized in exploitation of the workers. On the other hand, Durkheim focused on the increasing rationality of capitalism. He concentrated on moral consciousness of societies, and how without claiming to legislate in its place, people can come up with some enlightenment based on their consciousness in order to reduce exploitation.
Specifically, the articles discussed in this paper pertain to the environmental condition in South Korea and Japan with an overview of the energy crisis in Central, Northeast and Southeast Asia that fuels the economic growth in the region. The articles depicted conflicts between South Korea and Japan, as well as the reform in laws and policies of the Japanese government aimed at increasing global awareness and contributing to the sustainable development of emerging economies.
