Right from the onset, the play established, sustained, and ensured constant interaction between the actor and the audiences. The play made use of various tactics to establish the actor-audience relationship including strong technical designs, speeches, questions, and conspirator monologues. Moreover, the film deals with issues of creativity, entrepreneurship, and social impact. The film revolves around a scientist who also an inventor is named Sidney Stratton, also Alec Guinness. Guinness tries to come up with a new synthetic fiber that never wears out and repels dirt. However, he faces much opposition along the way that almost costed his life. Mill workers, accountants, managers, and company owners as well as stakeholders in the textile industry opposed his inventions. At the onset, the film seems straightforward with Guinness, the main character, being portrayed as a naïve, aggressive and enthusiastic man who is committed to big inventions while the big business owners suppress him due to their interest on profits. Initially, the film is produced in a manner that it makes the audience wish all the best for Guinness. However, as it progresses, it becomes clear that Guinness is somehow narrow-minded and selfish as well as being self-centered. Additionally, the audience realizes that Sydney cannot think beyond his invention and understand the implications of his invention to the industry and the community at large. The Guinness portrays an anti-hero feature that makes the film flow very well. It presents a dilemma that provokes varied views. As far as entrepreneurship is concerned, the film presents a post-war country of Britain coping with innovation, progress, and science all the while ensuring sustenance and survival of all the local industries through the overhaul. The only section that would require improvement is ‘making of’ part that should have been included to take of footage art and create brilliant extras to the documentary. Unlike the current business world, the film parallels the modern business world in that ideas concerning big businesses and innovation were suppressed. The themes also exploring issues like trade unions and business management. Additionally, the strong technical design created a relationship between audience and actors by taking them right into the actor’s world. The scenario is such that haunting echoes occur during monologues. There is an ornate from which water drips. The design is multipurpose, simple, and beautiful. Women held the audience captive by tossing their scarves and shifting to cause twinkling of their jewelry, especially during the occasional blackouts. The In this film, Guinness plays the role of an inventor who uses technology to undertake his researches and come up with new fabric that will not only withstand wear and tear but will also repel dirt. For this reason, he earns himself expulsion from one industry lab after another because of his overambitious personal inventions and projects. However, his projects are always successful and he is full of joy and pride that he cannot reason with managers and business owners in the industry. He is proud that people will benefit from his invention. He finally obtains the support of one manufacturer and he plans to hold a conference. Unfortunately, that is when labor union and large business enterprises enter the fight with a lot of seriousness. Their fear is that Guinness’ invention would ultimately shut down the industry after people have purchased enough clothes made from the strong fiber. Their first attempt to stop Guinness came in the form of trying to convince him to sign a contract that would shift the control of the invention from Guinness to them. Unfortunately, the trick did not work and the union and business owners resort to violence. The whole saga leaves out and diminishes the role of government in the control of the country since the cartels and labor unions unsparingly use force to strike down their business competitor and poison. A little imagination while watching this movie would make one realize that the film is a critique of the current situation in most governments and businesses. Such a great and captivating movie deals with issues of entrepreneurship, innovation, and interest on monopoly trying to suppress inventions. Having not being fun of theater movies, I thought I would dislike the play. However, when I stepped into the theatre, I was carried away by the stage design. It was set such that many things went on at the same time. The notable feature is that it had nine steps, and nine chains. The lighting, music, and sounds made the play even much better. The background lit up to the entrance of the first actor in a manner similar to morning sunrise. I heard a cry of a bird; in fact, I thought it was a real live bird. The affects made feel like I was experiencing the events first hand. The invention by Guinness was acceptable among customers. In fact, Guinness demonstrated high level of innovative leadership that played an important role in new product generation and entailed several techniques. As a creative leader, Guinness intended to manage a team that changes ideas and solves project challenges. Additionally, he chooses efficiency, discovery of new ideas, and experimentation. However, his leadership in innovation did not focus on staff of the business in diversification of methods and knowledge as a means of ensuring effectiveness to work. His leadership did not involve staff and team members in developing new ideas for the new project. For instance, he could have allowed the laborers in the industry to participate in exchange of ideas and conclude by choosing the best as a good practices or innovative skill. This process could have been very important for the success of his innovative idea through development of products, problem solving, and identifying challenges. For this reason, it becomes clear that Guinness is somehow narrow-minded and selfish as well as being self-centered. Additionally, the audience realizes that Sydney cannot think beyond his invention and understand the implications of his invention to the industry and the community at large. Guinness managed to present each trait with different persona, attitude, and manner. The American character captured my attention most. He insisted on inventing the fiber and refused to withdraw the license after being convinced by leaders in the textile industry. It fitted into the current situation since my textile industry is a leader in the world’s economy. Another unique feature is the representation of a river. At the start, it represented life, but towards the end, it symbolized death. In summary, the play was a true experience, very different from what anyone has ever seen. It is enjoyable and watching it gives the experience of a revelation to unfavorable inventions. Business idea introduced by Julie Aigner-Clark Aigner-Clark developed an interest in business after having her first baby. Her interest was mainly focused on research pertaining to newborn babies and their ability to learn. For this reason, she started her research through baby stores everywhere for any material that could be educational, developmental, and interesting for use with babies. At the end of the search, Aigner-Clark came back empty handed. That is when she came up with a business idea of creating some of the products. She realized that other mothers could be in the same situation. By taking advantage of an unsatisfied need and helping other people, Aigner-Clark changed her status from a stay at home mother to a very successful entrepreneur. Aigner-Clark’s business idea was innovative since it was new. Naidoo (2010) define innovation as the process of intentionally introducing and applying ideas, technologies, procedures, or processes within an organization, a task, or a group. The innovation is designed to fit the rapidly changing needs of the group or organization. Therefore, innovation has much more than just creativity. The distinction between the two exists in the generation of very new ideas. Innovation involves not just mere generation of ideas but also the implementation, which requires selling of ideas within the company to other companies. As a result, Aigner-Clark’s business was an innovative idea. For this reason, Aigner-Clark advices potential entrepreneurs to tap into their personal frustrations while starting new businesses. Solving one’s problems provides a great opportunity for starting a new business. This is because there is a high chance that people are going through the same frustrations and it would be beneficial to solve them. According to Aigner-Clark, she never had an interest in becoming a videographer nor starting an own company. In addition, creativity is important because it improves organizational operations to be sustainable through creation of new ideas, products, and marketing strategies. Currently, businesses focus on creativity in leadership, marketing, and visual design. Due to globalization and technology change, marketplace across the globe is turbulent. As a result, Aigner-Clark advices businesses to become creative and aware of their base of competitive advantage. For this reason, creativity is one of the tools and techniques necessary for enhancing business operations to be successful. This creativity is acceptable among customers. Aigner-Clark’s creative leadership plays an important role in new product generation and entails three techniques. First is the brainstorming technique, followed by visual confrontation, and finally morphological techniques. From her case, we can deduce that an innovative leader always manages a team that changes ideas and solves project challenges. Additionally, the innovation leads to efficiency, discovery of new ideas, and experimentation. In addition, leadership creativity focuses on staff of a business in diversification of methods and knowledge as a means of ensuring effectiveness to work. As a result, leadership ensures creativity by involving staff and team members in developing new ideas for a new project (Naidoo 203). For instance, team members can be allowed to participate in exchange of ideas and conclude by choosing the best as a good practices or innovative skill.
