They will not be convinced by this documentary, nor would they enjoy it, most likely, so they are not the intended audience. It seemed to be more for the converted and those sitting on the fence.
The purpose of this movie is to convince everybody that global warming exists, and that man is responsible for it, and it is really a call to action to try to stop it. There is a contingency out there who believes that man does not cause global warming, that global warming does not exist and that, even if it does, there is nothing that we can do about it. The purpose of this movie is to debunk this, and show that not only that man is responsible for global warming but that we can do something about it. One of the more effective parts of the movie showed how each one of the efforts that environmentalists encourage us to put forth helps, and how, if we combine all these efforts, we can decrease global warming to 1970s levels. The purpose is to educate everybody about global warming, and show exactly what global warming does to our planet and our ecosystem and what we can expect in the future if it continues unabated.
The perspective of this movie is from the point of view of Al Gore, who has been a passionate environmentalist since he was a young senator. Therefore, the facts are slanted to back up his perspective, with very little facts presented for the other side. That said, Gore does have powerful facts, and he uses enough visual aids to get his point across very effectively, and it is difficult to argue with his perspective. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

The protagonist of the film is Al Gore and his efforts inthe film largely comprise of educating the public about global warming, with the goal of creating the political will necessary for the United States to take the lead in efforts to lower global carbon emissions. An inconvenient truth (Movie report)

... Man as the Protector of God’s Creations While man has been blamed for the destruction of natural resources, it is wrong to assume that all men did not care about nature. In fact, throughout history, there are tales of men who have tried to educate the majority about the destructive force of man. For example, as early as 1864, George Marsh already warned man’s tendency to upset the harmonies of nature and the possibility that his actions could lead to global warming was already mentioned (36). Marsh believed that because nature provides man’s basic necessities, it is in his interest to preserve the environment. Some men heeded Marsh’s call and forest reserves were established soon after. Meanwhile, John Muir, founder of the Sierra...

Inconvenient truth

...Inconvenient truth Introduction In his prediction, Gore begins by describing the basics of how greenhouse effect works. He starts with a cartoon depicting rowdy global warming gases stopping Mr. Sunbeam from evading earth’s atmosphere. The accumulation of carbon IV oxide and other gases causes a coagulated atmosphere, hence it hinders the reflected long wave heat radiation from escaping to the atmosphere. These gases are produced from heavy machineries, factories and the general burning of fossil fuels. This causes an increase in the terrestrial temperature as a result of the reflected terrestrial heat failing to reach the far atmosphere, hence it is trapped to the earth’s surface due to failure of...

Global Climate Change Issue in an Inconvenient Truth Documentary

...Global Climate Change Issue in an Inconvenient Truth Documentary The advocacy contained in An Inconvenient Truth is already a given or a factual information today that is accepted as a reality rather than a subject that can be debated.
