‘The Last Supper’ is one of the masterworks of the Da Vinci and it still maintains a significant position in art galleries. According to Christian belief, the last supper indicates the final meals that the Jesus shared with his Twelve Apostles in Jerusalem just several hours before his crucifixion. The painting the Last Supper, created by Leonardo Da Vinci is based on this scene; and it is a 15th century mural painting. This painting survived the bomb blast at the Santa Maria delle Grazie where the Last Supper was painted.

Christian believers attribute the survival of the painting to its divinity. The dimension of the Last Supper has been measured as 450 х 870 centimeters or 15 feet х 29 feet. Several speculations still exist regarding the work. Most of the arguments regarding the Eucharist and glass of wine still remain a hot topic for debates. It is widely criticized that Da Vinci used same model for both Jesus and Judas. Recently in 2003, Dan Brown wrote a mystery detective novel named as the Da Vinci Code which argued that Jesus was in love with Mary Magdalene.

The Vitruvian man is another world-renowned drawing of Leonardo Da Vinci done in 1487. This drawing depicts a male figure in two superimposed positions by which his arms and legs simultaneously represent a circle and a square. This drawing includes some texts also; this drawing and text are together called the Canon of Proportions. This drawing was reviewed and interpreted from different angles in different times. The correlations of ideal human proportions become the base for this drawing. It also reflects geometry described by the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius, and hence the drawing is named in honor of the architect.

It is interpreted that the Da Vinci man in the square represents scientific models while the Da Vinci man in the circle stands for some religious symbols. Hence, many of the art interpreters are of the opinion that the Vitruvian man acts as a bridge between science and religion.3. Mona LisaOne of the most famous paintings of Leonardo da Vinci Mona Lisa an oil painting painted on a poplar wood. The image in the painting is believed to be the portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo.

Mona Lisa is painted in a realistic scale. It has a complete volume typically seen in sculpture in the round. The painting is believed to have been created between 1503 and 1506. Da Vinci's Mona Lisa is the earliest Italian portrait to focus so clearly on a passenger in a half-length portrait.
