For qualitative variables scatter diagrams can be useful, bar charts can also prove to be essential. For quantitative variables mean, median, mode, standard deviation, correlation, etc are appropriate. For quantitative variables, the fact that they are measurable makes them suitable for number-dependent statistical operations. On the other hand, qualitative variables are best represented by graphs, pictorial illustrations, scatter plots wherein they are compared with some set standards, or observed against a standard scale or gradation or bounded by a set like (very good, good, satisfactory, below satisfactory, poor) or (strongly agree, agree, neither agree nor disagree, disagree, strongly disagree) or (is important, neutral not important). These would be some of the scales against which the qualitative parameters can be measured.
