For instance, the current trends of technology have spread all over the world, and it is integrated in all sectors on of life and work. Therefore, education sectors have adopted and developed platforms into which the students have direct contact to the community, as well as their parents (Farr et al 12). In addition, the education sector allows students to make use of this modern technology to enhance learning and links with their teachers and parents. Consequently, technology integration in communication among students and the community helps learners to meet both academic and other needs required from the public and the teachers. Study shows that technology communication helps students to be actively involved in teaching, learning activities with other students, such students can use computers with Internet connection in research, multimedia projects, and social net working. In addition, they are able to draw the attention from the public to receive financial assistance, for instance, for the needy students or the school in general. Therefore, the school districts are able to choose the best technology and devices that they can use to communicate to the community (Farr et al 12). This paper discusses the various ways that students get direct contact to the community, and its importance to their academic performance through use of technology. A study was carried out to investigate the relevance of direct contact of students with the community in Australia. Technology plays the key role in communication and influences the internal operations of the students in the school, as well as it links them directly to their community the innovation of the communication. In this case, it leads to the idea of competing successfully in the current and new upcoming markets. Thus, the innovation of the communication devices and social cites has shown good results both academically and to the community that is why it is good for the students to have direct contact with the community. Research Method and Data Collection A case study was carried out to investigate on the relevance of students having direct contact with the Australian community using the current technology. The people who participated involved teachers, students from high school and colleges, the community representatives, and parents. Data was collected through direct observation, survey, face-to-face interviews, online discussions, calling and mails. In addition, data was obtained from the secondary sources, which was obtained through video, newspapers, reviews, research articles internet, documentation, and records among others (Buzzetto 8). Findings Results indicate that technology has largely changed the way people work and the way things are done locally and internationally, and this does not only benefit the public, but also the students. In school, there is online communication in which there is platform that links directly students, to their parents, teachers, administrators and the community. This has made communication of students with the community directly easy and faster than it was before where one had to post a letter that could take long or even get lost along the way. For instance, most students in Australia are able to communicate with their parents, colleagues, teachers, and the community through social cites, through gadgets like Smart phones, iPads, computer, laptops among others. These social cites include face book, sending messages, mail massages. Contact with the community is very important to the learning of the students especially with the use of technology as this prevents the students from being dormant and not being able to send out their views to the public. For the teachers and management, they can communicate online to carry out the school activities, as well as link to the parents. This has enabled parents to receive instant and accurate information from the school without having it go through the hands of the students who might discard, destroy or edit the information before delivery. This information consists of the performance of the student, forum for question and discussions among teachers, parents and students (Buzzetto 14). Schools and districts engage into direct contact with the community. This is by allowing students to get to participate actively in the forums through different technological platforms like face book, twitter, MySpace, among others. Through these platforms, students post various topics for discussion and obtain feedback from the public. Through this, they can integrate some of their classroom strategies to enhance learning and communication with the community. In addition, apart from students communicating with the community effectively, technology has many advantages in enhancing the teaching and learning process. Firstly, the teacher can use technology as a learning tool to help students with disabilities to participate and improve in their learning process. Technology, in this case, improves the learning and cultural issues in special students. Technology does not only assist in learning but also in other aspects of life like developing language, developmental skills, functional skills, transitional domains among others. Technology has improved devices that help special science students with different disabilities that obstruct them from participating in normal learning such as speech, hearing and other physical disabilities (Farr et al 12). A study was carried out using some of the students from Australia and the community to investigate the effective of direct contact. Technology enables students to learn effectively. Research indicates a direct improvement in the students’ academic performance if given the platform to interact with the community. This is because most of these students are able to access the Internet, and through communication, they are able to personalize the learning processes. Use of technology for communication to the public enables the students to participate in the forums, debates, and socialization, which empowers them to develop both in their communication and learning skills. Communication to the community helps the learners to have the tools that enhance learning and improve their academic performance. In most schools, especially in primary schools, teachers create online websites, which links the students to the parents, community and teachers. On this websites, they can access school calendars, administration information and blogs. Students contact with their parents every end of a given time either weekly, or monthly. The parents are able to read the school website to receive the updates concerning their students and the school in general. Through these platforms, they can express their views, as questions and give feedback (Buzzetto 9). According to Buzzetto (9) technology enables the district to have the different communication platforms that triggers the attention of the public and get their aid. This way, they make sure that there are topics from the students and the community for discussion online, for instance, some topics can be related to social problems such as the importance of girl child education. Such a topic sensitizes the community, in general, and makes them aware of the girl child education, and a wide range of viewers views it. In addition, a student is able to post a story, for instance ,using various social cites such as twitter, wiki space, websites, face book, emails, texts and Whatsapp. This can reach a number of viewers through one single post. This has been made easier using the current electronic gadgets like smart phones, which can capture photos and videos to be posted to the public (Farr et al 17). In this time of tight budgets, communication benefits many people not only to the students having a direct contact to the community, but also it gives a clear and engaging way to the district education commissioners to enhance the academic and co-curricular activities achievement. Through this form of communication, districts get financial help from the community and the government. In America, communication by using technology in schools is necessary as long as it is used in the right way to portray the right information to the public. It is also important for the parents and the community to see the progress of their education and this enables them to see education as the key to the future life. The students use communication gadgets to make the parents and the community to help them enhance and support learning activities of the students. Involving business, organizations, and citizens helps to promote learning in a given society. Therefore, schools are able to refer to the cases where the learners have done well in school, as well as the co-curricular activities, and this generally benefits the whole community (Junco and Timm15). Online communication between students and the community in Australia is very important. Teachers can take that as an opportunity to involve the parents into learning of their children. In addition, the Internet and the e-mail has become the easiest way to connect between the teachers, students, parents, and the community. This is very important in the academic realm since through online communication, students are able to enhance their self-direct learning, global awareness, critical thinking, communication, and self–advocacy. Through this communication online, they are able to utilize various methods of communication, etiquette, and computer skills. Moreover, teachers use technology to give the parents and the community frequent information concerning the school and the students’ performance through e-mails, school websites, and the learning management systems. This provides great opportunities to utilize various ways of communication online in various social cite as mentioned above (Luo 12). Most students use online communication through peer posts to get feedback and opinions from their peers. They also carry out online research as well as projects and learn more about the current methods of instruction and assessments online. Moreover, online communication links people to a wide range of audience in and outside the continent, and this enables students to have diversity through exposure to different cultures from different parts of the world. Nevertheless, not all the parents and the community can gain access to this technology. This may be due to the limited Internet connectivity, or lack of the gadgets that have Internet like smart phones. Therefore, this becomes hard to enhance communication for students to the community. As a result, schools should provide such facilities and give students orientation on how to go about it, and the community should to have access to the technology and be able to take part in the communication. In addition, teachers need to spend more time online to monitor and continue with the communication through discussions (Plomp 23). Conclusion Students engage into direct contact with the community where they by allowing the students to get participate actively in the forums through different technological platforms like face book, twitter, MySpace, among others. Through these platforms, students post various topics for discussion and obtain feedback from the public. Creating ways for communication between students and the community is very important because it increases the community and parents’ participation in the school activities and their children’s academic performance and that of the school in general. Through this, the parents are aware of the school procedures and reduce unnecessary misunderstandings. The community feels good and supportive if it is involved in the school activities with direct contact with the students. Their attitude about education and learning also improves and the community knows the importance of educating children in their society. In this type of communication online, there is flexibility and engagement of the participants to freely express themselves and give feedback. This is done through chats, discussion forums, social cites. In addition, when students communicate directly to the public they benefit they gain the audience and attention of the community. Therefore, through this communication, the districts, schools and individual students get financial help from the community and the government. In America, for instance, communication-using technology in schools is necessary as long as it is used in the right way to portray the right information to the public, and that has shown positive outcome on the students and school’s academic performance. There is a great importance of students having direct contact to the Australian community as long as the ways of communication are towards the academic improvement (Connor 24).
