Name: Lecturer: Course name: Course code: Date The rise of insecurity and its effect on the society Background to the issue The rising cases of Insecurity in recent years are one of the treat that affect the community. The issue majorly affect the youth since they are the one who majorly travel till late night. The consequence is worsening, many are reported dead due to insecurity and the trends continue to target the youth as time goes by. The inaction of the society on this matter has lead to stunted economic growth since investors are afraid of the insecurity in the area (Moghaddam, The New Global Insecurity: How Terrorism, Environmental, 2010). The consequence of low economic growth is low pa capita income and low living standards hence the rise of vicious cycle and increase in crime rate. In this case, proper measure needs to be ascertained as well as executed in order to minimize these consequences. The government ought to come with strategy that should be adopted as far as security nationwide is concened. A systematic measure including a cooperation consisting of the government is relevant in order to curb the level of insecurity as well as the crime rate. Objectives of the action Plan. The action to be executed is public awareness of the insecurity rate as well as enhancing the security by first identifying your next neighbor as well as understanding what he/she does to earn an income and also coming with strategies ion how this social nightmare will reduced since the major impact is on the society. In this case the society is the primarily responsible for ensuring that the level of insecurity and crime rate is minimsed. Detailed action plan on how to curb insecurity is as follows Proposed Action Understanding your neighbor Each individual will be mandated to understand what the neighbors in order to earn the source of income. This will reduce international crime since wanted people will hide in another country so that they will not be instituted by their court. This is same people who will bring crime and insecurity into the country. In this case if everybody is going to understand their neighbours, then the first type of security (International crime will reduced) Educating the public on security awareness The public should be educated on the security awareness as well as how to response where there insecurity on the country (Moghaddam, The New Global Insecurity: How Terrorism, Environmental, 2010). Educations will thus maker the public aware of the security matter and thus they will be alert and mindful of suspicious person. In this reduction the rate of insecurity will be minimized. Some of the channel of educating the public is through the television programs, government plans as well as social n=sites. In this case, the public will be aware of the level if insecurity in the country and therefore they will act in response of any suspiciousness by reporting to the police or the intelligent network and further investigation be made in order to conclude on the security risks of the nation. Providing job opportunity Idleness is what majorly contributes to increase in insecurity since the youth do not have job and they need cash to finance their needs. Lack of cash would lead to robbery with violence as well taking away other people’s life in order to deprive their income. Therefore the movement should come up with strategies on how to create more job opportunity so as to make youths more active as well as increasing their income. This will hence reduce the crime rate in the country. Key roles and responsibility The government The main responsibility of reducing insecurity is majorly bestowed upon the gorvenment. The government should therefore ensure there is existence of security in the country; this majorly is achieved by having a well organsied system of security network in the country as well the security intelligent network. A country with poor system of security will be faced by stunted economic growth due to the fact that the level of security in the security is not guaranteed. It can be observed that there is a correlation between the security level and the economic growth and hence a government will not focus on having an improved economic growth as well as the enhanced living standard compounded by the high per capita income without placing emphasis on the security of the nation The public Once the government has put security policy in place and plays its part fully as far the national security is concerned, it then delegate part of the responsibility to the public through the county headquarter inform of country government security policy plan or the security policy is bestowed on person responsible for the administration of security in a given a district. In this case, the person given the responsibility will ensure that the security within their jurisdiction is upheld. It is apparent that the people who are majorly affected by the raising insecurity and the crime rate are the society and therefore, a key security measure relies on them (Mary Kaldor, ‎World Institute for Development Economics Research, 2008). The public has a major duty of reporting to the government any suspicious person and as well ensuring that their environment they live is well guaranteed otherwise, their life will be affected drastically by the rate of insecurity. The individual Every individual alas the responsibility of ensuring that there is security around the place of work or where he resides, This is only attained where every individual get to know who is his/her neighbor as well as understanding what he/she does to earn income in this case the government will be t] able to supervise the security of the nation smoothly by following the protocols from the individual level to county level and hence nationwide security matter. This will thus lead to reduction in insecurity and crime rate in the country. Risk associated The government The government will not provide an absolute assurance on the security of the individual and hence it will be risky to place reliance on the gorvenment that will guarantee the security of the nation. The government like any other person has numerous duties to undertake and all departments needs concern of the government hence it is not an assurance to rely on the gorvenement to ensure that the security of the nation is guaranteed (Larry Elliott, 1999). This is situation is deem since the society are not fully assured of their security more specifically on individual basis hence, concern specifically relies on the community at large to ensure that their security at their dwelling place if well enhanced and any other security matter beyond their control should be reported to the government for further action on the security matter. The public It is not clear to figure out who is the legitimate patriot to the nation and thus place reliance on the public entity will not provide an assurance to the nation security since, a person will pretend to be patriotic to the nation and promise to enhance the security of the nation by reporting ion suspicious person but instead he/she might turn out to be an international criminal who is in the country with a specific mission of destabilizing the security of the nation. Therefore placing reliance on the public for full security is risky since it might turn out to worsen the state of insecurity and crime rate. Evaluation method In ascertaining the level of security after strict measure has been executed in order to reduce the crime rate, the following method will be used 1. Questionare Individual in the society will be asked to fill the questionnaires more specifically on areas where insecurity was high. The respond given will then be used to ascertain the level of insecurity and whether the strategy adopted to reduce the crime and insecurity rate was effective. This type of evaluate level of security is deem efficient since it’s not cost as well the privacy of the responded is guaranteed (Béland, 2009). This therefore makes the responded to freely respond to the security question being asked. The data can be collected within a short period of time and analysis be made on the general security concern as to whether there is an improvement in the security or the new system adopted to curb the insecurity and crime rate is not efficient/. 2. Interviews Performing interviews will as well aid in ascertaining the level of insecurity since the respondent will provide his/her opinion regarding then level of insecurity and hence proper measure should be taken where the feedback from the respondent is negative. 3. Facts finding This is done by visiting a place where it has a high level of insecurity and hence collect facts about the level of insecurity and perform analysis on the level of insecurity. Facts finding aids in understanding the trend in the level of insecurity from the period when the measures was undertaken to curb the level of insecurity to date (Alexander, 2009). This will therefore help in coming with a solution of whether to enhance the level of insecurity or to completely change the strategy. Conclusion Insecurity is an issue that affects the social life of individual and hence the problem is inevitable to both the government and individual. In this measure to curb insecurity must be instituted in order to curb this consequences because, insecurity affect the way people relate as well the general economic growth. It therefore implies that ignoring the security concerns will cost the society hence measures to curb insecurity starts at individual level by understanding people they relate and reporting any case of insecurity as well as suspicious person Reference list Alexander, K.
