Movement to the United s Based on differences in economics s of various neighbors of the USA as reported by Zhou (pp.120-147) and Orleck (90-119), the immigration rate from the 1970s have increased, Among the immigrants coming in to the USA through New York include Soviet Jews who have been associated with a variety of characters such as being mobsters, money launderers, and also other renown personalities. However, considering that immigration of Europeans has slowed down from 1970s, a new breed of immigrants has been observed to enter New York in large scales.

These immigrants include Asian Indians, the Chinese, and Soviet Jews. The common factor that drove these large scales of immigration include the search for stable economic and education systems and also in search of asylum from slow economic growth associated with post World War II period. 2. Contributions and Disadvantages of Immigrants in NY. Two of the top reasons why immigrants in New York contributed to positive economic impact is because after 1970s the streets of New York were underpopulated and the immigrants populated the City making it a business hub.

Secondly, based on the establishment of businesses and organizations in New York, immigrants were promoting the stability of the economy through employment and tax returns. However, in the same sense these immigrants are seen as being beneficial, a disadvantage factor is associated with their immigration-state. While New Yorkers can satisfactorily thrive on available resources, immigrants posed a threat of making these available resources more scarce. Secondly, while immigrants have helped develop companies and other employment centers, they have also created tension among New Yorkers since that they make available job vacancies fewer based on those hunting for jobs.

In this case, the above outlines factors play roles in the lives of New Yorkers who have to live with the situation as long as immigration continues Kallick, pp. 148-175). Works Cited Foner, Nancy. One Out of Three: Immigrant New York in the Twenty-First Century: Chapter 3(Kallick), 4 (Orleck), and (Zhou). Columbia University Press, 2013.
