Loss of primary sense affiliation This is one of the technical questions that I always face when asked, because it usually puts me in a dilemma of viewing one of my senses of less use. Despite the fact that all the five senses have their use in proper functioning of the body, they cannot be equal in priority. It is for this reason I can choose to lose my sense of smell. In the body physiology, the sense of smell is useful to individual in detecting matter/things that generate fume or air in the environment.

This helps human beings to recognize some harmful chemicals and avoid them as well as detecting aromas that boost appetite or likeness (Buck, 2005). Based on such advantages of sense of smell, they are relatively less important to my survival. This is because; I can use other senses like vision and taste to counteract the loss of smell. Additionally, the sense of vision and hearing has 90% significance in avoiding harmful things or getting drawn to the right things, compared to smell. Losing my sense of smell will give me an advantage of, not smelling the noxious or bad smell that people claim to smell.

Despite that, it is relatively disadvantaging me if I am alone since I will not be able to smell some toxic chemicals and leave the scene. I am not very bad off when people are near me since they will smell it on my behalf, and we all leave the scene if the smell depicts a threat. I can conclude that losing my sense of taste shall put me in jeopardy to realise some environmental factors but comparing it with other four senses, it is less dominant to my daily activities. Therefore, it is the one that I can prefer losing.
