This makes them acquire the desire to strive and get to the point where their friend or family who live in higher social class belong. This causes them to have a lot of emotional distress and in turn develop affluenza symptoms.
Another group of people who are prone to develop affluenza symptoms are those people living in high social classes. Completion is affiliated to affluenza (Graaf et al. 2005). People living in high social classes tend to compete among themselves. This causes the desire for more wealth in order to outdo each other. This aspect makes people to set targets which are beyond their reach and as a result, they end up being diagnosed with affluenza disease.
Personally I have had an experience with affluenza disease. It brings about selfish desires and greed. Scientists have discovered that affluenza disease result to loss of weight as well as inefficiency of the immune system due to emotional distress.
