Alcoholism refers to the excessive use of alcohol. Alcoholism was officially recognized as a disease in 1991 by the American Medical Association after studies were conducted on the reasons why people drink in the levels that they do. Like any other disease, alcoholism is attained slowly and gradually, and it increases to become an addiction. Alcoholism among teenagers has become very rampant. Many teenagers are continually engaging in alcohol intake and use in the early stages of their lives. Long term dependence on alcohol leads to either moderate or severe alcoholic related diseases.

Since the youth are in the B bracket of the population that the economy is extremely reliant on, it is very important that critical studies are conducted to curb this social crisis. According to previous studies, teenagers between 14-16 years of age are the highest consumers of alcohol. It has also been proved that 14% of the teenagers take alcohol at least every day. Different types of methodology will be used in order to collect varied information that aims to give detailed coverage of the study topic.

Different methods will be used to gather information. The money provided will help to ensure that these methods are successful. This includes data collection and analysis, a compilation of facts and figures, and the application of research tools. The methods that will be applied include sampling, filling of questionnaires, and conducting interviews on the relevant participants. The money will help in equipment access, travel expenses, and eventual gathering and compiling of information. All these methods and strategies will be beneficial to the study topic (Thombs 6).

Once the information has been gathered from the field, it will be analyzed and all the results recorded. Analysis of the data will be done by experts who will be employed to critically work on the data so as to ensure that all facts and figures collected help in finding the solution. The data collected will be analyzed, tabulated and presented. The presentation will ensure that facts and figures are tabulated and understood by the use of graphs and pie charts (Thombs 6). In conclusion, the study aims to draw the link between alcoholism in teenagers and their environment.

It will look at factors that range from the level of supervision from parents, family conflicts, depression, peer pressure, and family history of alcohol.
