Legalization of Prostitution: Ratification of the Rape of Humanity Legalization of prostitution cannot be accepted because prostitution is not only harmful for the prostitutes and prostitute-goers but also for humanity. It is harmful for the prostitutes because it affects both their body and mind. Whereas the prostitutes become degraded psychologically, physically they become vulnerable to destructive diseases. Indeed both the prostitutes and brothel-goers and humanity become affected by this practice.

Prostitution is harmful for humanity because it is detrimental to family system, the oldest institutional unit of the society. If the importance of the family in modern society is closely analyzed, prostitution as a profession is to be considered anarchy in comparison to the necessity of family. But there is another approach to prostitution. It considers prostitution as a business or a profession and attempts to uphold other traits of the positive sides of prostitution to support and treat it as like any other business.

But these arguments appear to lose the little bit ground if compared with the negative sides of prostitution. This approach argues that prostitution is just part of the business act. As women, they are providing services using her own talent, whereas, men is rewarding with money responding to their services. But the weaker side with this argument is that it always overlooks the negative sides of prostitution and does not answer all of the questions that arise in the context of legalizing prostitution.

It is argued in this way that prostitution serves both the prostitutes and the brothel-goers in several ways. First it satisfies the carnal desires of both parties while one party becomes financially benefitted. But it ignores the master-slave trait in the relationship of the prostitute with the brothel-goers. History of Prostitution and the Contra-social Issues of ProstitutionA close analysis of human history shows that prostitution is one of the oldest and the most controversial profession in human.

Either prostitution in human history has been viewed negatively or it has been legalized under the compelling situation. Therefore the connotation of the term "legalization of prostitution" itself refers to the age-old negative attitudes to its. The historical document regarding prostitution shows that the profession has been viewed in an irregular manner unlike other daily activities. In the 18th century BCE the Code of Hammurabi preserves the prostitutes' inheritance rights. In its code, "If a "devoted woman" or a prostitute to whom her father has given a dowry and a deed therefore.

" the use of the term prostitute is remarkable for how the people of that society viewed it. Here the prostitutes are marked as different from a "devoted women". In different ages it is found that prostitution had been banned or legalized but never accepted as a universal form of social practice. From this historical connotation of prostitution, the negative impacts of prostitution on the societies in different ages can be visualized.
