 Siting a Theatre based on the Findings . Introduction The preliminary stages of decision making were based on the idea of establishing what site is best for locating a theatre. To answer this question, a series of methods were deployed in aid of the data collection process. A variety of approaches were used such as the sample comparison techniques. This in effect involved collection of data from the three main locations for comparison. In specific, three communities provided the basis upon which the information was gathered. Target groups within these communities were families as a basic unit of a society. This unit was considered basing on the socio-cultural trends the three communities seemed to have in common. Research Methodology The research process involved data collection, techniques using various tools which included, the use of interviews, the use of questionnaires, visiting sites during the data collection process. These techniques were blended by the use of both the structured as well as non-structures sub-categories, giving validity to the information collection process. The use of Questionnaires The questionnaire was a method that was administered to respondents in a user specific form. It slotted for the three communities in question and was used to collect numerical data. This method was fundamental in the sense that it addressed the issue of time and precision. Because the information needed was not to be treated as crucially confidential, the questionnaire provided the platform where respondents could confidently give their honest opinion about the intended data. This also helped to focus this process to objectivity. The Use of Interviews During the data collection phase, there was also involved in process, one on one encounter with the respondents. This form of data retrieval was to ascertain the validity of the content of questionnaires. In other words, the two processes in data collection were intended to run concurrently. As this information was sociologically retrieved, there was need to justify the validity and precision standards of the information collected. Visits of Sites The various communities involved; communities A, B and C, were those in the immediate vicinities of study sites, as to the appropriate location for the establishment of the theatre. In this regard, the communities depicted a representative target population for the fundamental information needed. As a result, a pre-visit was made to the locations of these communities where also a simple analysis of the socio-economic aspects of the areas was done. This analysis is found to be important especially also in the verification of the statistics gathered about the trends in community A, B and C. With the use of the models above in information collection stage, it is eminently true that the questions set by the models are found to be true in establishing the site and locating it for the theatre. The validity of the questions is also confirmed by the fact that eighty percent of the question objective is directed towards the appropriateness of the theatre in the chosen localities. This is a fact that ensures that whatever statistics result must also promote towards a positive decision. Sampling Techniques Used Since the three sites are located in a cosmopolitan area, there would be challenges involved if the quest for best site location would be considered for the vast area. As a result, sampling technique was deployed whereby for ever ten families, one was picked. This method was also done together with random sampling procedure to ensure that each family in the target group was subjected to an equal opportunity to participate in the process. This ensured limitation of biases that may arise during collection of information, which in effect always have dire implications. This distribution criterion was used for community A, community B and community C in a fairly representative module. Moreover it was evident that the three communities were not same as regards the number of households and consequentially the family. This diversity was also put into consideration when the random sampling technique was being used. Justification of the three sites used to collect the data Most of all it is evident that communities A, B, and C are located in a culturally dynamic setting. This gives the three sites relevance in the study. Alongside the cultural dimension, the average household income in the three communities is slightly above the national levels and this indicates the possible willingness of the families in these communities to actively engage in leisure activities, one being watching, alongside heeding other services of the theatre. Other than that, the fact that most households and family members are employed, blended also by the fact the literacy levels are high in these communities, it is expected that the families are engaged in more leisure after work and school. Financial Implications on the Locations Depending on where the theater shall be located, financial standing is an inevitable implication. For example, depending on the design of the theatre there will be a variation to the amount of family expenditure outside the home on a weekly basis. The more expensive the charges at the theatre, the more expenses the families incur. Alongside, cost implication in regards of the three locations, accessibility is another component significant to the findings. When the theater is more accessible there will be more of the financial implications. Accessibility has also been dictated the by the presence of other public amenities. The best of the three sites focuses to least disturbance to the current social and economic factors, but is also mush dependent on them. And also bearing in mind that there is high likelihood of many more theatres that may be in an attempt to fill market gaps, the location of the theatre must be best to offer a great defense against any possible completion. Conclusion From the findings, the best site to locate the theatre is in community C, the second preference should be community B and finally least in the considerations, A. This is because community C has a great preference in watching, as a form of entertainment; both for TV’s and Movies. This gives it the highest financial implication. The overall financial implication of community both on watching movie and TV is higher than that of community A.
