God is supernatural and is sovereign over the earth. He is accredited with such traits as being omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, and being just. These, among other traits, and together with the existence of sufferings that people go through such as diseases and calamities induces dilemma over the validity of the characteristics of God. This paper argues that terrible things that people suffer such as diseases and calamities are compatible with the belief in the existence of an all-powerful God who cares about his people.

The problem of evil that identifies possible inconsistency between traits of God and the existence of evil that people suffer has a solution and this clarifies the point that despite the sufferings that people undergo, God is all-powerful and cares about people. While the omnipresent feature means that God knows everything that people go through and having authority and being loving and caring God would mean that He foresees any calamity and can protect people from it, bad things still happen to people.

While evil defines a bad thing that destabilizes a system, and this is evident in such phenomena as diseases and calamity, the concept of moral evil offers a solution to the problem of evil. Under the concept, a moral agent exists that causes evil, and human actions identify the agency. This, together with the fact that God gave human beings authority on earth and the freedom of choice, means that God may foresee evil and have authority over it.
