Research Method The study utilized the qualitative method with the survey approach being utilized. The data was collected using structured questionnaires from a sample comprising of 20 respondents aged between 15 and 55 years from both genders. The questionnaires were evenly distributed to varied groups of age 15 to 55 years regardless of gender. The data was then analyzed in percentage table to give the actual results of various aspects of cosmetic plastic surgery in the current South Korean society. The survey was not gender bias since it wanted to give a clear rate of acceptance of plastic surgery among various people in the society. However, the method was limited in that it did not identify male and females from different occupations. The data was collected generally from respondents without restrictions and this may have affected the validity and the reliability of the information. Data Analysis Gender Age Plastic surgery and beauty Plastic surgery and employment Plastic surgery and relationships View of south Korea Females 15-25 50% 50% 50% 50%   25-40 40% 35% 48% 45%   40-55 35% 40% 45% 45% Males 15-25 20% 48% 50% 20%   25-40 20% 50% 50% 30%   40-55 40% 50% 40% 25% Findings and Discussion This survey was done among females and males of age 15-45 years to get their views on this new trend of cosmetic industry. 51% of females in this study revealed the importance of plastic surgery to the Korean society. 50% of females acknowledged the idea of plastic a surgery as a way of maintaining relationships and getting advantages in getting employment opportunities thereby showing a greater correlation to the importance of surgery in the modern Korean society. Moreover, 49% of females embraced the idea of plastic surgery and accepted that they get attracted to those who have undergone the surgeries. Even though only 40% of the females revealed their parents love for the surgery, but it was quite evident that a greater percentage would have resulted since some of the respondents declined to reveal their parents perception on the idea of plastic surgery. In addition, 50% of teenagers argued that plastic surgery improves relationships, friendships and self-confidence. Lastly, a greater percentage of females regarded South Korea as the largest world market for cosmetics. According to these findings of the study, male perceptions on plastic surgery decreased dramatically compared to those of females. Only 30% of males revealed importance of plastic surgery to the modern Korean society. However, 50% of males associated plastic surgery to employment showing a stronger similarity to the females’ perception. Moreover, 50% of males regarded cosmetic plastic surgery to strengthen friendships and relationships. Last, only twenty percent of the males revealed their parents love for the idea of plastic surgery. Moreover, 20% of males viewed South Korea as the largest market for cosmetics. Even though the perception of plastic surgery varies, the survey reveals that the rate of its acceptance in females outweighs that of males. However, it is significant to note that the perception on employment among males and females replicates. In addition, the teenagers view on the effects of surgery to relationships and friendship for both the gender is the same. Conclusion Plastic surgery is now a common practice in South Korea that is almost embraced by everyone in this society. The survey reveals the cosmetic plastic surgery industry to have originally been influenced by the western values. The society perception about this has since then changed by the majority of the people accepting the plastic surgery. Most of the respondents accepted the practice of plastic surgery due to its importance in the society. While some argued based on plastic surgery improving personal appearance for the acquisition of employment, others argued based on plastic surgery strengthening relationships. In addition, most respondents regarded South Korea as the world leading market for cosmetics. The survey may lure and persuade people to go for plastic surgery. However, the survey fails to identify the negative impacts of the plastic surgery. Therefore, there is need for more studies on the side effects of plastic surgery so as to advice people appropriately.   Works Cited  Sang-hun, Choe.
