Development of Knowledge and Skills and Change in Attitude At the very beginning of this course I was a very diffident student and could not decide things properly. Interacting with people was a very difficult thing for me because I lacked confidence and I did not know how to interact with people. During this course I learned the ways in which I can be interactive during my dealings with my classmates and colleagues. I also learnt how I can work in a team and play my role in the best possible way by utilizing all my inherent capabilities and also the knowledge and skills that I have developed during various different courses in my academic career. I always had problems in identifying my role in a team or workgroup and because of this I was unable to play a productive role individually in a team or working in a group. The teacher helped me to identify my role in the team and also taught me how I can develop skills to work effectively as an individual. Now I am in a position to work as an effective member of the team and also as a productive and interactive individual who can convey and present his ideas very well before a group of people and convince them. The course has brought revolutionary changes in my communication skills and I have managed to overcome my stage fear while presenting or speaking before a group of people by adopting various strategies taught in the classroom. The knowledge of various research methodologies has enabled me to classify my research tasks as primary and secondary and by doing so I save a lot of time which can be utilized in developing knowledge and skills. Time management is perhaps the most useful technique that I have learnt because now I carry out all my assignments and tasks according to a defined schedule which I set up for myself at the start of every week. Realizing the importance of punctuality in time management and social interactions I have developed a habit of coming in time in the classroom. A broader view of things has enabled me to judge what time is best for studying and what time is best for practicing the studied knowledge. I have gained a lot of knowledge and developed various skills through producing this coursework and increase in awareness has produced a change in my attitude and my way of perceiving things. 2. Problems The first and foremost problem that I face in all of my assignments and also faced in this assignment was the language problem because English is not my first language and I face difficulty in proper phrasing of sentences because of weak grammar that is why I commit various grammatical and spelling mistakes during the assignment and I have to correct them. But while overcoming this problem and correcting my grammatical and spelling mistakes I have realized that my language is actually improving and is considerably better than past. The second problem that I faced was my shortage of attendance because I missed some of the classes during the start of the term; as a result I had to study various basic concepts myself but still I could not take grip on various lectures because of the knowledge I missed during the start of the term. Another problem which I faced was working in group because I did not have any experience of working as a team and interacting with the team members. But it took some time to develop a strong bond with my teammates but they are very friendly and encouraging so this problem was resolved very easily and now I consider myself to be a productive and effective part of the team. 3. Lessons Learnt for the Next Time Now that I have actually realized my mistakes and identified the problems regarding communication skills which I face during my interactions, I am in a much better position to perform the next tasks effectively. For the next assignments I will firstly try to understand completely my role in the team and then if my role will not be suitable for me according to my knowledge, skills and abilities, I will change my role and will pick up one in which I can utilize my abilities in the best possible way, in this way I will be able to perform more effectively and can also develop my knowledge and skills by interacting with my teammates and learning from them. Another thing that I plan to do for my next assignments is presenting my ideas more effectively because my confidence level has been improved greatly and now I can convey and present my ideas very effectively and this will give a new direction to my way of perceiving things and will help me to improve myself because when a person presents his ideas before a group of people and share it with them, many questions arise and people point out flaws and I believe in taking criticism as a positive thing and a way of improving things. 4. Learning Outcomes I found all the tasks to be somewhat difficult because of various different reasons. Nothing is easy without giving due attention and proper practice therefore I did not find any learning outcome or task to be very easy. The most difficult task I found was participation in the group activities because of interaction problem but at the end of the coursework, group tasks were perhaps the easiest of all for me because I was reluctant to interact at the beginning but after the third meeting the interaction with the group became very easy and I felt at home while working with my group members. After developing a good relationship with my team members I was able to demonstrate my skills and knowledge to the fullest and very effectively helped my group to achieve the set the targets and goals. Being interactive was the key to become a productive member of the group and as soon as I gained confidence and developed the attitude of sharing ideas and presenting them, almost all the tasks became very easy for me. 5. Difficulty in Performing and Demonstrating Learning Outcomes As I mentioned in my previous answers, I did not face any difficulty at the end of most of the tasks but getting started was somewhat difficult because of the language problem. Effective communication is very important for effective learning and demonstration of gained knowledge and skills. At the very beginning I was unable to perform the assigned tasks effectively because of the difficulty in communication because English is not my first language. The vocabulary level was very low at the beginning and I was not able to make out the meaning of a few words as it was very difficult for me to learn a lot of words instantly, but I started understanding the meaning of words and phrases with time. The next problem was the accent of my group members, because different members of the group had different accents and it was very difficult for me to understand all of them at the same time, but this problem was also resolved with the passage of time. So most of the tasks and learning outcomes were difficult to perform and demonstrate at the start because of the communication problem but the difficulty gradually decreased as I started understanding the language in a better way with the passage of time and with increase in interactions with my group members. 6. My Performance I have tried to perform to the best of my abilities because I continuously tried to improve myself during the coursework and my communication skill were substantially improved during the coursework and this was very evident because at the beginning of the coursework I found it very difficult to interact with my group members and also it was very difficult for me to present my ideas effectively. But at the end I had improved so much that I found interacting with people as the easiest of all tasks. During the course I delivered presentations and every time I presented on a topic I went to the teacher afterwards to get feedback on my performance and the teacher pointed out my mistakes and told me the ways I can improve myself. Based on teacher’s suggestions and feedback I developed strategies following which I can improve my communication and presentation skills. This shows that I actually worked very hard to improve myself and doing so I utilized my abilities, knowledge and skills in the best possible way. While working in the group I tried to identify, analyze and understand my role as the member of the group so that I can prove myself to be a productive member of the group by completing the tasks assigned to me effectively. I also tried to interact with people and share ideas with them and doing so I developed my knowledge and skills. 7. Grade Self evaluation is a very difficult task and I cannot assign a grade to myself but I hope to get a very good grade because I have worked hard this time and the improvements are very evident because I have improved my language and presentation skills. Moreover as I have depicted in the previous answers, I have worked very hard for improving myself and have actually devised strategies for doing so based on the suggestions and feedback given by the teachers and therefore I believe that I deserve a good grade.
