Question 1 A database request normally refers to a structured query language statement. A transaction is formed of one or more database requests. Mainly two types of transactions can be found namely local transactions and distributed transactions where distributed transaction differs on its ability to handle request from remote sites on a network…

A distributed request refers data from several different data processor sites. Each request can access data from many sites where a transaction access several data sites. Similar to requests, transactions can also be categorised as remote and distributed. A remote transaction is composed with several requests but accesses data in a single data processor site. A distributed transaction allows referring several local and remote data processor sites where an individual request can refer data in single location but the entire transaction will refer several sites to complete the transaction. Question 2 Most of these problems occur due to data transformation incompatibilities and conventions used. With in the different divisions of an organization, operational data may vary in terms of how they are recorded or on the data type and structures used. For an example if we take a sales company the Customer service division may use ‘pending’,’ active’, ‘inactive’ and ‘cancelled’ but Audit division may use number tags such as 1, 2, 3, and 4. For same two divisions they may use different conventions for entering customer phone number to the database. For an instance where the phone number can be entered as 091-3453489 by Audit division and the Customer services division enters it as 0913453489.

The basic purpose for any database in an organization is to serve the purpose of storing transactions and being able to produce reports effectively (Rob & Coronel, 2002). Although, most database analysts would agree with this simplistic definition of a database, there is more to uses of a database than what meets the eye in this definition.
When investigations are conducted into crimes and fingerprints are recovered, it is very helpful to have access to the database systems which retain fingerprints and DNA from previous offenders and may also tie one crime in with another because the same fingerprint shows up in both.
The second layer is the schema of a given database. The third layer is the database itself representing a state of the application's data often called micro-data. The fourth layer consists of the macro-data that are generated from the micro-data by application of view queries to the micro-data (DIETRICH, 2011).
A randomly generated test script is utilized to provide variation among test cases and consistency between different runs of the benchmark. The benchmark is platform independent and can be extended to support any database vendor providing a Java data source for connectivity.
In this case we need to examine the way the data are structured in order to define the database models to adopt. Database systems according to the way they function they are categorized in analytic and operational but here we are concerned with how they model the data in which case they are divided into hierarchical and network databases.
It then highlights how the design confirms the three forms of normalization i.e. 1NF, 2NF and 3NF. In order to test the working of the proposed logical design, results of certain test cases have also been presented.
There is a storage space of data warehouses for maintaining the historical in addition to the most recent data. This historical data is designed to develop and enhance diverse fads and records available to the senior management in a way that the management makes use of the
