School Fees and Educational Loans - Assignment Example

I registered in the fall 2010 semester and began my studies. To my misfortune, my family’s business did not recover from a major setback, as it was expected to do so around this time of the year. My father owns his own business that has provided for all my needs in Canada – schooling, and living. However, he has been facing some setbacks in it for a year that has led my family to suffer a few financial problems. Some ray of hope was expected to emerge in the middle of the past year as my dad had told me that things would be sorted out by then.

I registered in the semester with the idea that my family would eventually get back to its original financial position but unfortunately, things did not work out as I wanted them to. I had attended only two weeks of classes when I got the sad news from my father that he had tried all possible avenues for the improvement of the business. This news made me realize that my family would not be able to support my studies in the respective semester. I was fully committed to attending the past semester until my hopes of financial stability in the family were broken.

The sad news led to my decision of withdrawing from the semester since I was not able to ask my family for my educational support at that point in time. I was new at the university and was not aware of the policies and procedures that are followed here. I was not aware that I would not be able to get a refund after two weeks. In the midst of the family financial crisis, I am facing a very hard time supporting myself therefore it is very hard for me to pay the fees of such a semester that hasn’t been attended by me even till a quarter period of it.

I was new to the whole system and was not aware of the technicalities; if I had known the right date then I surely would have complied with the requirements. Kindly help me in this matter and waive off half of the school fees that are due for the fall 2010 semester, considering that I was a new student in the university who was unaware of the policies. I will assure you that such action or appeal shall not be repeated in the future. My uncle has taken the responsibility to take care of my family’s financial crisis and provide help in my father’s business.

My uncle shall be providing me with an educational loan till my father’s business starts running again therefore I will not face any financial problems in the future. I had only attended two weeks' classes which is a very short span of time to know the system of the university. I will be highly obliged if you grant my request and waive off my school fees that are being asked by the management. Thank you.
