Fiber What is the function of fiber in the body? “Dietary fiber from whole grains … helps reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower risk of heart disease. Fiber-containing foods such as whole grains help provide a feeling of fullness with fewer calories and so help with weight management” (Whole Grains and Fiber, 2010, para…

(Whole Grains and Fiber, 2010, para. 1) What is the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber? Fiber can be “characterized by its solubility in the intestines. Soluble fibers have a high water holding capacity while insoluble fibers do not. “Despite the potential confounding of these classifications, both soluble and insoluble forms of fiber are important and appear to have different health properties in at least some settings” (Van Horn, 1997, para. 3 and 5). What are the fiber recommendations for children versus adults, according to the article? Van Horn (1997, para. 17) indicates that children should get the majority of calories from complex carbohydrates. However, because of concerns relating to growth and energy it has been suggested by Pediatricians that the “age plus 5” rule be observed. This means that if a child is five years old then he or she should consume 5 + 5 = 10g of fiber per day. Once the child’s intake of calories approaches that of an adult (1500 calories or more) then a total of no more than 25g is recommended (Van Horn, 1997 para. 18). A recent article suggests that children 1 – 3, 4 to 8, 9 to 13 and 14 to 18 should have 19g, 25g, 26 to 31g; and 29 to 38g respectively (Fiber & Children’s Diet (n.d). para. 2). The recommended intake of fiber for adults is 25 to 30g per day.

Forensic science is a way that experts examine facts related to a case to provide evidence that can be used to solve the crime and identify the real person/persons responsible for committing the crime at hand. Forensic science includes the use of fingerprints, DNA and trace evidence to compile relevant evidence for the prosecution of crimes, mainly crimes relating to murder (Houck & Siegel ix).
A laparoscope is a fiber optical instrument, which is as thick as a fountain pen but twice as long. This instrument is inserted through an incision made in the abdomen or near the operative area and CO2 gas is inserted to bloat the area like a balloon, so that the images received are magnified and clear (Diamond, 1998).
The author states that in order to test fiber optic cables, many tests are conducted to ensure reliable connectivity. Some basic tests are highlighted that are associated with continuity testing, insertion loss and Optical time Domain Reflectometer. Continuity testing method involves continuous checking of broken fibers from one end to the other.
Manure with natural fiber structure and optimized mixed manure is a key component in organic farming and at its most fundamental, the process of composting needs merely piling up waste outdoors and waiting for the materials to breakdown for between 6 weeks or more (Rosen, pg 146).
It aims to gain a better understanding of agriculture production, the product and the food system. Thus for further understanding, the product that is chosen is cereals-Kellogg. Major commodity The major commodity is Cereal and the product to be discussed is Kellogg.
The cables were developed to replace traditional copper cables which relatively offered less capacity and were more vulnerable to electrical interference. This cable converts different kinds of data such as text, emails, video and images into a stream of light that travels through it from a sender and converts it back into its original form on the receiving end.
main precursors are cellulosic fibers used are cotton, phenolic fibers, petroleum or coal tar pitch, viscose rayon, and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) (Mahrez, Mohamed & Katman, 2005).
Unlike graphite, that has planar carbon atoms layers, carbon fibers have carbon atoms ribbons
