It is the duty of the spouse to ensure that the children have adapted to the new condition without going through any difficulty. The biological parent has to make sure the step parent is respected by his or her children. The step-father or step-mother must also show love to these newly found children. The biological parent must take charge of all major decision-makings on the issues to do with the children. He or she must be the one setting the rules while the step parent only reminds the kids of these rules.
