Introduction
Childcare is referred to as caring and supervising children from early years. Childcare plays an important role towards the development of a child in a healthy manner in every sphere. Childcare covers a broad perspective and almost entails the different needs of the children from the initial days of their life to their following years of upbringing. Childcare plays a vital role in the development of different attributes of the children, so that they can have a better sustainable and healthy future. Childcare centres need to develop the different reflective indexes in the children and increase their cognitive skills. Moreover, the growth of cognitive skills enhances the ability of the children to communicate with the diverse groups within a society. This will further enhance the ability of the children to communicate and acquire knowledge from the diverse group that are present in a society (Layser & Goodson, 2006, pp. 556-557). High quality childcare during the initial years of upbringing will develop the children’s cognitive ability and prepare them for performing their future tasks in an efficient manner. In addition, childcare is essential for ascertaining the healthy development of a child. Thus, it is the prime need to provide a proper care for the children to initiate their cognitive and healthy development (Evers & Riedel, 2004, pp. 3-4). In this context, the paper focuses on the varied needs of the children that would integrate effective development and ensure continuous growth. Elaborations are also provided to understand on the legislation that is prevalent within the system. With a detailed description about the practices that are widespread across the area of childcare.
Task 1
Safe Practice within Childcare
Children are vulnerable to the different operations of a society and fall easy prey to any kind of improper healthcare and societal practices. Childcare professionals play an important role to look after children. The childcare practitioners are crucial for having a huge impact on the development of the children during their initial years. The different skills and attitudes of the childcare providers play an important role for the growth of the children. The government has been framing strategies to enhance the credibility of the children. The legislation provides some mandatory norms that are of foremost requirement for the development of the children. The child workforce strategies that are implemented will enhance the quality of caregiving and skills for the development of the children. The skills and abilities of the caregivers need to be improved in order to meet with the efficient needs of children (Crown, 2005, 4-10; Munby, n.d., pp. 10-15).
The Children and Families Act 2014 is passed by the UK legislation to make provision for the children and their families to take proper care for children (Crown, 2014, pp.1-4). The other -national standards of the care provided to the children and young people are developed in accordance with the Regulation of Care Act 2001, Children’s Act 2004 and Every Child matters among others. According to this act, the range of services covered include nursery classes, play schools, crèches and other childcare service providers (Crown, 2009, pp. 3-4). In this regard, the UK government has implemented childcare law to take effective care for the development of the educational standards for the children (Crown, 2003, pp. 1-5). Under this Act, a strict regulation was passed for providing day care to the children. The different national standards that are prevalent under the law help in developing a guided approach towards childcare during the early years of children. The national standards provides a strict guideline that explains the different programs that are to be followed at the time of providing caregiving services (Crown, 2009, pp.1-6).
The government has been implementing plans to provide efficient care to the children, so that their cognitive development could be ensured. Proper understanding of the values that are essential for the development of the children and young people must be effectively adhered in order to ensure that proper care should be offered to the children for their health development. Furthermore, the caregiving agencies must ensure that the children are provided with effective care for meeting the health and safety needs. In this context, development of proper communication is necessary for building a proper healthcare system (Blackwell and other Accredited Agents, 2009, pp. 9-12). Communication can effectively enhance the approach of care and develop the ability of the childcare providers in the long run. Furthermore, the training that is to be provided to the caregivers must be in such a manner that they are capable to develop the young people (Lansdown, 2011, pp. 10-15).
Different strategies are to be implemented in different sectors of a society that ranges from schools to developing parents in providing childcare. In this regard, different caregiving agencies such as crèches are even providing training to the nurses, so that they can develop a proper standard of care and provide the same to others. In addition, the management of caregiving agencies are identified to be based on trained and professional nurses with the aim of ensuring that childcare services are offered effectively. In this respect, the agencies will be able to enhance the caregiving process as per the standard provided under the legislative. Communication is observed to be having a huge impact on the cognitive development of the children and even enhances their ability to perform. The different approaches of management are observed to be developing the nurses’ approaches to provide proper care to the children in their initial days (Department of Health, 2012, pp. 10-15; Crown, 2009, pp. 21-25).
Legislation to Specific Practices
The legislations ensure in the development of a proper framework for the development of the childcare approach, which in turn would enhance the credibility of the nurses to develop their ability to perform their tasks in an efficient manner. The development of informal communication would enhance the ability of the different agencies for ascertaining that childcare services are offered in accordance with the needs of children. The family centred practices have been effective measures based on which caregiving agencies are able to develop the abilities of the children and accordingly, enhance their credibility to lead a quality life. For instance, the activity based teaching processes enhances the orientation of the children by further integrating different approaches to involve learning into their daily operations (Lansdown, 2011, pp. 24-26; Crown, 2005, 5-12).
Many childcare providers to enhance communication with children and mitigate their cognitive blockages are integrating parents within the caregiving process to provide an extended care to the children. By implementing proper assessment and planning of the different needs of the children, a proper understanding of their needs could be anticipated and care is provided accordingly. This phenomenon will help the caregivers to develop efficient care and enhance the quality of care provided. This in turn enhances the applications of the programs involved with the system of care and further develops the ability to provide elegant care to the children. The effective assessment of responses of children on an individual basis is likely to enhance the system of caregiving by nurses and develop their cognitive skills (Department of Health, 2012, pp. 50-52).
Moreover, caregiving agencies are extending childcare services over the rural and urban areas would integrate different systems and help the healthcare centres to implement an integrated system for cognitive development among children. The federal government is implementing plans, so that the government can build up an integrated program that will cover different sectors of a society for meeting with the individual needs of the children. In order to do so, the childcare agencies dealing with the needs of the children are required to provide effective care for growth and development of a child in early years (Health Information and Quality Authority, 2012, pp. 14-18). This would even enhance the ability of the nurses to provide quality care services in different demographic regions for providing technical support to the children irrespective of their demographic areas. In this context, childcare services provided to the children residing in urban and rural areas are observed to have huge differences. The federal government is developing ethical norms to expand recent genre and mode of operation. This would further enhance the quality of care offered to the children in an effective manner (Health Information and Quality Authority, 2012, pp. 3-9).
Legislation Prevalent In Other Countries
Providing quality care to the children has been one of the most important phenomenons across the globe irrespective of the geographic areas. With the incorporation of women into the workforce, childcare has been a vital measure for the government of a country to minimise inequality in order to ensure better growth and health provisions for children. In this context, the government of a country has been computing different norms, so that legislations developed and implemented in relation to childcare are effective for providing adequate support to a child in early years. The childcare policies are evaluated owing to the fact that the corporations are even providing support to the working parents by providing effective care options to the children (Janta, 2013, pp. 2-3). The UK legislation has opted for various services such as offering lactation aid to the women workers, so that they are able to provide effective care to the children during their early years. Different legislations such as those in Sweden are providing working parents with special parental leave in order to ensure that effective care are provided to the children. Parallel to this for healthcare organisation, the childcare legislation has been making it mandatory to develop quality of healthcare (Hobson, 2013, pp. 35-39).
Certain childcare legislations like those in the European nations are identified to be offering no option regarding parental leave, as it does not meet with the actual requirement for childcare. The member states of the European Council have been providing certain regulations regarding flexible working hours to the parents. Furthermore, the nations under the European Council are identified to include different norms relating to childcare such as children’s rights and the Social Agenda for 2005-2010 among others with the aim of improving childcare services (Hobson, 2013, pp. 126-128; Janta, 2013, pp. 3-4). Moreover, the country has been developing their childcare centres at large on the basis of childcare standards, so that quality care and support services are offered. Childcare organisations are required to follow different policies and standards for providing elegant care to children. The nations such as the UK and Czech Republic have developed huge amount of discrepancies that is leading to the development of proper childcare agencies. It is further noted that the European nations have been enhancing their quality care by providing training services to childcare workers. In this context, the training services led to the development of the abilities of the nurses. Accordingly, the nurses and childcare workers are able to provide proper care to the children during their infancy and preschool ages (Hobson, 2013, pp. 153-156).
Task 2
Implication of Legislation
Legislation has been framing different rules as well as regulations that are developing the quality of childcare. There have been strict guidelines that are provided to the childcare system to generate a process of effective care among the children for better cognitive and health development. In order to ensure that childcare practitioners are effective in taking efficient care of the children has been providing specific training to meet with the efficient needs of the children during their initial days of upbringing (LSE, 2014, pp. 4-6; Lansdown, 2011, pp. 19-21). The federal government has even implemented strict guidelines in different sectors of a society for talking care of children at different stages during their early years. In this regard, different needs of the children and their individual care are observed to be crucial in developing their future and enhancing the credibility of the child to perform during their later stages of life. Healthcare providers should ensure that the nurses taking care of children during their initial days are capable of taking effective care of the children. The proper understanding of the needs of a child should be accomplished, so the standard of caregiving can be developed on the basis of a child’s needs for better future growth (CSSIW, 2012, pp. 8-11).
Strategies for Effective Implication of Policy
The UK government has been developing plans and has implemented different Acts for safeguarding children in the hands of the caregivers. The legislation has been entrusted with the different strategic implementation that would provide effective guidance to the childcare providers (Davies & Ward, 2012, pp. 55-56). Furthermore, to enhance the quality of the childcare providing agencies, the government has developed different boards that monitor the effective need of providing quality care to the children. Various initiatives like identifying the initial response of abuse have been observed to be having a positive impact on the development of the children. In this context, proper childcare boards have been developed that has been dealing with the needs of the children and enhancing their ability to intervene (Davies & Ward, 2012, pp. 108-112). The government agencies are even bestowed with authority to take disciplinary actions against nurses or agencies, which fail to provide proper care. With effective monitoring of the agencies as well as their standard practices, it is noted that appropriate implication of the stated guidelines by the government will be duly adhered. Moreover, the government has taken effective measures to develop a proper principle that needs to be followed in childcare. These principles even help in aligning the standard practices with the ultimate objective of providing effective care (Crown, 2006, pp. 37-45).
National Policy and Strategic Development
To safeguard the needs of the children, the governmental organisations are implementing different acts that would specify certain guidelines for developing a standard quality for providing childcare services. Furthermore, the government organisations are specifying different needs to develop a proper system that safeguards the requirements of the employees for offering proper childcare services. Additionally, the government has been developing different structures that would provide the working parents with many opportunities to develop a caregiving provisions towards their children. Agencies like International Labour Organisation (ILO) have developed certain guidelines that are mandatory for the organisations to follow and provide scope for the working parents to take effective care of their children (Hein & Cassirer, 2010, pp. 12-16). Health Information and Quality Authority (2012) provides with a national standard that safeguard the welfare and protection needs of the children (pp. 3). The government has been framing policies that meet with the changing needs of a society to provide appropriate care to the children. The different societal settings and their diverse needs are duly adhered to meet with the changing needs of a society. It has been observed that for children who are having special needs have to be dealt in a proper way, so that they can even lead a normal life. This would increase the quality of care and even develop the standard of caregiving. The different approaches of the government are observed to be having a huge impact on the development of different strategies to maintain the strategic development. In this context, the government has been developing new policies as well as modifying the existing ones, so that they can ascertain that the different societal needs are duly met (Crown, 2010, pp. 113-126).
Conclusion
Requirements of proper care for children are observed to be one of the prime needs of present day. It is further noted that with the increased level of inclusion of women in the workforce societal setting has changed. The initial years of children are crucial for developing their future and have a huge impact on their reflexes. Hence, it is a prime need for the caregivers to adopt as well as implement effective measures and enhances their standard of caregiving. Lack of effective care has in turn attracted different government agencies to intervene into the system and specify a standard process of effective caregiving. Moreover, the government has been developing organisations that would be providing efficient care to the children with special needs. The government has been taking effective steps to implement quality care into the system and ascertain the sustainable development of caregiving services. In this respect, to develop different strategic measures, the government has even opted for undergoing massive change in the healthcare facilities for the children. By providing quality care to children, the government can ensure a better life to the children as well as ensure a bright future.
