Identification of the Problem Tobacco use has been depicted as one of the chief avoidable sources for causing illnesses and death in the prevailing society. Tobacco has long been witnessed as a major and growing concern in the present health education and community development initiatives. According to the observation of World Health Organization (WHO), it has been affirmed that the use of tobacco is one of the primary causes for different kinds of chronic ailments including cancer, cardiovascular diseases along with lung and mouth diseases (World Health Organization, 2013).

In the context of the brutal effect of tobacco in the Miami Dade region, it has been observed that the use of tobacco is one of the prominent causes of death along with various vulnerable diseases within this particular region. Miami Dade: Its Geographic Boundaries and Demographic Characteristics According to the statistical representation of Florida Youth Tobacco Survey (FYTS), it has been identified that the major population of Miami Dade region is highly affected by use of tobacco (Florida Department of Health, 2012).

In this context, it can be eventually affirmed that a large number of high school students are involved in the use of Tobacco which proclaims a major threat to the society. Miami’s population from differentiated demographic backgrounds entailing age, gender, race and culture among others are greatly affected by health related hazards due to the consumption of different forms of tobacco products. According to present day context, critical emergences of diverse physical ailments are mainly caused by tobacco usage.

In accordance with present statistics, it has been observed that geographic location of Miami-Dade can be a major reason behind an enhanced rate of Tobacco usage (Florida Department of Health, 2012). Statistics The current statistics related to the tobacco usage has brought forward a startling figure that there has been a rise in the use of tobacco by a considerable extent which has severely affected the population of Miami Dade in terms of being affected by different health hazards. The present statistical report of the region signifies an increasing number of patients suffering from different vulnerable diseases due to the use of tobacco.

As per the observation of FYTS made for identifying the involvement of high school students, it has been observed that differentiated forms of tobacco products are being consumed mainly by adolescents. The following graphical representation depicts the recent statistical report (from year 2010 to 2012) of high school students who are likely to consume different types of tobacco products (Florida Department of Health, 2012). Source: (Florida Department of Health, 2012) Nursing Diagnosis Considering the various healthcare reports of different public healthcare organizations, it has been affirmed that a number of patients suffering from different chronic diseases including cancer, cardiovascular diseases along with lung and mouth diseases are affected due to the consumption of different tobacco products.
