For business organisations, advertisements are aimed at influencing their customers purchasing decisions. Other organisations that do not produce goods to sell, may also make advertisements that enable their target audience to make decision that influence their lives in different ways; for instance, advertisements in public health aim at helping people make better health and social decisions that improve their health.

Political campaigns on their other hand persuade people to accept and accept their particular ideologies. Advertisements are also made to be informational; in this case, they help people to know of the various events coming up in the near future. Most institutions make advertisements about courses they are preparing to offer to their learners, events like games coming up or prominent people visiting in the appointed times. This paper examines some of the ads that have been made in the past in the US media, focusing on how effective they may have been towards relying the intended information to their target groups Before sending out certain information in advertisements, it is important that company managers or particular people making the advertisements to know how effective they can design their advertisements to appeal to their target audience.

An effective advertisement should be that which delivers the intended message to its clients without any conflicts in terms of interpretation. The making the advertisements have to ensure that they keep in kind all the elements they need to include in the advertisements so that they can achieve this objective. The elements in the advertisements that often make them effective are many, ranging from the graphical elements, the kinds of language in the ads, the spacing of the words among others (Greiner and Marco, 34).
