Leading something big is not a small task or something which emerges like storm and takes everything in its reach; leadership takes time and patience. Everything has a reason and similarly leadership starts with a purpose to achieve a goal. A positive goal can be accomplished by making enthusiastic speeches or producing great influential ideas. It may or may not be a huge purpose or goal but one blip or one spark is big enough to create a purpose which initializes the leadership (Grint, 2010).

According to the relational leadership model, first of all it is important that the leadership has a clear and definite purpose which fulfills the requirements of a big goal to be accomplished. The purpose must be noble and for the betterment of the followers. Secondly, the relational leadership is inclusive which implies that it includes diverse opinions and viewpoints of people of different cultures and ethnicities I without discrimination. Thirdly, it is an empowering process that makes people feel empowered while doing their tasks unrestricted.

Fourthly, relational leadership is ethical with certain moral and humanitarian values in it. Lastly, it revolves around a process that consists of a group’s collaboration and working together toward the sole aim. Greg Mortenson throughout his life has manifested great leadership skills that throw light on the struggles he had to make in the process of relational leadership. However, the leadership skills of Greg and his peers are not without flaws as lack of foresight and disorganization existed in them as they started working toward a global campaign.
