Dry powder Inhalers (DPIs)

...? Dry powder Inhalers (DPIs) Introduction: The treatment of the pulmonary disorders is done by delivering the drug directly to the lungs by using drypowder inhalers (DPI). DPI is the recent and most efficient technique to deliver the drug to the lower respiratory tract. The DPIs are able to deliver 10 to 20 % of the drug used. The efficiency of delivery can be improved if we increase the powder formulation, inhaler device design or the inhaler effort of the patient. As the last two things are not practically possible, the powder formulation was chosen for the experiment. In this experiment, the effect of the powder formulation with lactose as the carrier molecule and the effect of the inhalation flow rate are studied....

Methane Dry Reforming

...is also helpful because these gases are not environmentally friendly and their conversion to feedstock will enable better environmental regulation. During the conversion process, one of the major problems is catalyst deactivation resulting from coke deposition. The deposition of coke produces poor catalyst selectivity, activity and longevity. The aim of this project is to investigate the effects of forced periodic cycling between a carbon-gasifying agent (such as carbon dioxide) and methane dry reforming in order to increase the yield of syngases and to improve catalyst longevity. This study will also bolster innovation by developing the traditional Ni-CO catalyst using cerium oxide as a promoter. This approach has been...

Modern jet engines take advantage of the turbine’s ability to convert fluid movements to mechanical energy, and many use complex electronic fuel balancing systems to ensure that these turbine engines function optimally—systems that may become prone to mechanical or electronic failure as well as operator error. Ensuring proper operation of aircraft that utilize this technology requires a combination of maintenance, adherence to prescribed preflight guidelines for operation, and correct operation by the captain and...

It is being taught in universities at Spain, Canada and Switzerland; but in United States, it is still controversial as to include it in physical therapy curricula or not. According to him, MTrPs are defined as “hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle associated with hypersensitive palpable nodules in a taut band” (p.15). Then, he describes...
