For centuries individuals have used clothes and other body adornment as a form of non-verbal communication to indicate occupation, rank, gender, class, wealth and group affiliation. Fashion is a form of free speech with which a person can express him/her self. As far as women are concerned, they have found out ways through which they could look prettier and younger. The use of cosmetic surgery and similar measures ensures that they are able to attain the ‘look’ that they aspired for so long. However all these measures tend to take a back seat when the drawbacks shoot up. Body 1 The adverse effects of such a surgery are something to ponder upon. These women suffer from a number of different ailments in the wake of extensive remodeling and reshaping that their bodies have had. They seem to overlook the very basis of these problems before they attempt to undergo cosmetic surgery since they are overawed by the results that would be evident in the name of beauty and a perfect face after such an operation has happened. The most important thing is to understand that such a surgery would not reap rich dividends for a long period of time and this would end sooner rather than later. In other words, the results are short lived and there seems to be no long term guarantee for what looks good today will surely haunt their own individual personality five or ten years down the road. The problem is that a number of these women have an issue or two with the acknowledgement of complications that could come in their way in the wake of the cosmetic surgery. What this means is the fact that they think they know their own self better than anyone else and hence they know they could withstand the pain within, if ever it comes. They are just so sure about their own selves that they are ready to take such risks. They believe that the complications would not come in their way since they trust the doctor, the surgeon and the whole medical team. In fact the surgeons themselves assure these women of the long lasting and beauty effects which they would eventually have, once the surgery gets completed that they fall in the trap. It is the duty and responsibility of the surgeons and the medical staff to indicate to the patient what the good points are as well as assert the basis of the drawbacks or the negatives which might and surely would happen in the longer scheme of things. The reasons could include that the women are just so full of their own confidence that they do not feel any pain coming upon them in the near future. Plus there are the young girls who do not understand the intrinsic features associated with these surgeries and just plan to take up surgery without any warning by the relevant authorities. Body 2 One should believe that in cosmetic surgery cases, parents need to stand up and be counted for their own good since their child knows absolutely nothing about her own self as well as her well being. The effects of such surgeries lead to pretty horrid results. It could happen that the results are not what were envisaged in the past and thus the whole face of the patient becomes a problem for one and all around her. She could start facing troubles at the hands of her friends and even her family members. She could become a laughing stock in front of just about everyone and this could happen since the cosmetic surgery regimes do not guarantee 100% pretty looks all the time. There surely could be failures every now and then and under such circumstances, the patients receive mental jolts more than anything else. The people around them would start avoiding the patients since there is a faction within every society to leave the ugly looking souls alone. However, within the context of this discussion this is a separate issue altogether and this must not be the case at any time. But then again similar things do happen and one should be ready for such results and instances right from the very beginning. Thus the effects of cosmetic surgery could be haunting, not only for the patients themselves but also for their family since they are linked to them in more ways than one. They have to live with them and support the patients at each and every instance. Body 3 The negative responses make the patient suffer enormously and she must take precautionary measures through the medical staff and more importantly with the help of the surgeon beforehand so that she could get over with the very same when the need so arises. In an unfortunate event where the results are not that encouraging, it is best to understand that throwing blame on somebody else is not the right way to go about things and a woman should take complete responsibility for all her results and attached actions since she was the one who took the decision in the first place and now she has to bear the brunt all said and done. Conclusion In the end, it would be fitting to state here that the women seem to ignore the proposition related with the discomfort that they would have to go through after such a surgery fails and haunts their life for good, before they decide to undergo such a surgery. If only they could think ten times before undergoing such an operation and consult the right people at the right time, then they could do themselves a huge favor. However all this requires intellect and a sense of understanding on the part of the patient and her family members and friends need to provide her the right food for thought at every possible instance. As far as surgeons are concerned, they must talk to their patients one on one before operating such a woman who wants to change her life for all the goodness that she can receive after a cosmetic surgery.
