Much of the rise in the level of self-employment is in 2008, which reflects long-term trends as a result of the global financial crisis (Hitt et al., 2011). There are technological as well as industrial changes. Self-employment among female workers is found to rise in recent years as a result of the women empowerment programs held by the organizations. Moreover, the aging workforce has a strong influence on the rise in the level of self-employment as the workers prefer to carry out various tasks even after their retirement.
