Leadership from a personal experience Name Name of the institution From a personal perspective, leadership involves leading people in the right manner that will lead to the accomplishment of the goals that are set by the organization. Therefore, as a leader one is required to possess special skills that the ordinary person does not have. Importantly this enhances leading in a proper way. Therefore, this paper will look into details the context of leadership by reviewing leadership from a personal experience. PART ONE Leaders use various leadership styles in executing their managerial responsibilities. In various occasions, as a leader one can use these numerous leadership styles to propel globally. In this context, leadership in organizations is composed of various components that assist a company in operate effectiveness. Also, as a leader one is supposed to use leadership styles that provide ways of executing plans and motivating employees in the workplace. Over the past years, Leaders has enhanced the growth of any organization in the entire world. Mostly, the concept of leadership is executed in the workplaces (Tracy 2014 page 45). Therefore, it is essential for every leader to come up with the leadership techniques that will allow the employees to use their skills to the maximum. As a result, scholars have invented major leadership theories that should be used by every leader so as to ensure that all the workers are giving their best. Also, leaders are supposed to use leadership styles that provide ways, of executing plans and motivating individuals in the workplace As such, for a leader to become an exceptional figure, he/she need to recognize these leadership theories To begin with, taking into consideration of the situation of a personal experience, as a leader it is clear that once the employees have been lead in a proper way, they can help in achieving the organizations goals. Importantly, the use of leadership styles makes it possible for any managers to trace back the responsibility of every individual and evaluate their results whether they need to be encouraged or reprimanded (Jago, 2011 page 70). In addition, in the case whereby a leader embraces leadership styles, the leader can become effective in executing managerial tasks in the organizations. Moreover, in a personal standpoint operational leaders are those who revolve their leadership in regard to the employee’s needs. In summary, following different leaderships style, it is clear that the leadership techniques used by any leader or the leading team can highly determine whether the organization achieve its objectives or not. As such, it is crucial for any leadership to choose a technique that will enhance great operation that will lead to success. However, as a leader one encounters a couple of complications while embracing these leadership styles. Such implications may involve the case of the intensive research that has been conducting in regard to the leadership style. In this case, the research to provide support for leadership styles is inadequate. Furthermore, the failure to sufficiently address the case of personal and group leadership in the workplace makes the application of leadership styles appear more complicated. Although the case of leadership styles may at the time appear more complicating, the situation can be avoided. Basically, as a leader one can achieve this through motivating the employees. Additionally, so as to save the organization from undergoing through complications, a leader is required to apply good leadership behaviors. Therefore, as a leader one can argue that the use of good leadership behavior can encourage subordinates positive thinking hence the possibility of organizations success. More so, in the recent period, the understanding and awareness of leadership theories has been highly remarked (Rost, 2012 page 103). In this case, leaders have adjusted to these managerial styles and the application of the styles have displayed positive outcome in the workplaces up to date. Consequentially, leadership theories have played a key part in contributing to the success of organizations. As a result of applying these theories in the work, it has become clear in describing the responsibility of the employees and each leader. As such, as a leader one can be identified through self-awareness and social skills. Furthermore, in the work environment the use of the different style of leadership has impacted to people in the organization working as a team. PART TWO On the other hand, in practicing leadership theories, a leader is needed to understand the clear meaning of the word leadership (North house, 2015 page 23). These theories are applicable to the professions where the level of promotion is low and infrequent and where the employees tend to keep on doing the same thing repetitively. Ideally, leadership involves leading people in the right manner that will lead to the achievement of the objectives that are set by the organization. Globally, as a leader an individual is required to understand the global changes that are overtaking the organizations. As a result, leaders can be able to perform their influence in the right manner. In addition, in this situation of understanding leadership, leaders are viewed in different ways. For instance, a leader may be defined by personal traits whereby personal, unique traits may be used in describing such kind of a leader. Frequently, leaders have been well-defined with the relation of sufficient qualities they hold. However, in this situation of defining who is a leader, one may identify complications in understanding who is a leader. Generally, the overlapping meaning of a leader and manager imposes complications in disclosing the responsibilities of a leader. Personally, the task done by a leader are more of the same conducted by a manger. As such, leaders’ influences people at the workplace while as managers’ influences a group of people. Therefore, this may cause some complications as leaders are involved in the management. Likewise, leaders’ power can be used as a technique to solve the complication of overlapping responsibility between the leader and manger. As a leader, one is required to identify a satisfactory base of power. In this case, the leader is required to adapt the kind of power that is required to influence the employees. In addition, as a leader one is supposed to choose the kind of power will make the leader possess the ability to influence employees’ beliefs and approaches. Essentially, a clear insight of the case of leadership have over the past period developed. Mostly, in the current generation a leader is identified with just physical appearance. In this case, the personality of a person has been viewed as one of the exceptional quality that can be used in defining a leader. For example, height is a personal quality that can make a person be selected by others to act as a leader. More so, when one is asked to give the meaning of an ultimate leader, numerous people focuses on the traits possessed by a person. More so, the intensive study carried that, in colleges’ students with personality traits are more likely to be identified leaders by other students (Jago, 2011 page. 231). As a result of such, personality traits have played a key role in the cases of identifying leaders. Although, technical knowledge is more advantageous to leaders, personality traits such as intelligent have been identified as a major attribute that differentiates outstanding leaders. Therefore, in summary, this clearly shows that a person can become a great leader because of possessing personality traits such as intelligence. Moreover, in the context of selecting leaders according to their traits, good characters with variety traits and characters are usually chosen to influence employees in the workplace. On the other hand, it is consequentially important for an organization to appoint a leader who has value traits because the leader is effective, committed and competence in performing the tasks. Lastly, as a result of organizations appointing leaders with improved traits, an organization obtain leaders who are respected (Tracy, 2014 page 180). Through these leadership traits, the leaders create awareness to the people of their needs and any way that can be used to compromise these rights and the way out of any such a situation. PART THREE Lastly, in the current business affairs, it has become essential for people to identify the reason for having good leaders in the organizations. Currently, in the world of business leaders have been classified according to various approaches. Such approaches include traits and abilities, social interactive approaches and as well as contingency approaches. In this situation, leaders are required to possess powerful traits such as personal-confident, determination, reliability among others (Rost, 2012 page 230). Moreover, in recent business affairs management skills has become a necessity in the different stages of the organizations. Importantly, with leadership skills, the leadership process have become available for everyone. Usually, leaders have identified the usefulness of leadership training as a result of management skills. Additionally, the current leadership approaches address how the managers of various organizations handle the behavior and nature of human beings of the employees they are dealing with. Furthermore, the approaches describe the way managers should lead workers in an organization so as to enhance the achievement of goals (Nohria, &Khurana 2010 page 233). However, as the studies that focused on the leadership styles were conducted few studies claimed that, transforming management leadership has improved employees’ satisfaction. Despite such claims by the studies conducted, there have been several complications in relation to leadership approaches. For instance, in the case whereby a leader has extreme personal confidence it can be risky to both the leader and the organization. In this case, leaders engage in risky activities such as acquisitions, changing management tactics among others. As a result of extreme confidence, leaders are likely to cause complications in the organizations. Usually, it is the responsibilities of leaders to provide a solution in the case whereby complications affects the operation of the organization. With the leader providing the solution it will always seem simple for the people seeking to conquer the obstacle preventing them achieve their goals. It is in this case, a leader is required to appear on the front line and provide creative solutions in solving the complications that may affect an organization. One of the key ways a leader can use to solve the complications related to leadership styles, it is by comprising the behaviors and the achievement of the leaders. In this case, leaders may apply the behavioral style in leadership. The theory can be used by leaders as a way to inspire and encourage change in an organization. The approach may encourage for change either in short-term or long-term basis. Furthermore, in the case whereby leaders need to solve leadership complication in an organization, behavioral approach is the best technique that can be used to strengthen positive changes. In summary, therefore, following the different leadership style, it can be concluded that the research that was conducted in regard to behaviors of the leaders, employees, and their responsibility has helped every leader in gaining a clear insight in regard to understanding the process of leadership. However, as the studies that were earlier conducted tried to make the leaders understand leadership, the research did not quote the actual traits and behaviors that will make a leader become effective. Furthermore, as a result of leaders applying the behavioral approach in managing organizations, the organization experiences positive implications. Consequentially, through the approach the leader is able to essentially distinguish the management and the employees (Nohria, &Khurana 2010 page 275). Also, as a result of the conducting a research on regard to the approach, leaders are able to conduct in a way that is related to the employees regardless of the task they are performing. Lastly, in another implication, through the approach the leaders are able to adapt to the current situations in the organization they are managing.
