Implications of Post-Modernization of Public Policy Name University Affiliation Course Title Professors Name Date IMPLICATIONS OF POST-MODERNIZATION OF PUBLIC POLICY Introduction Adopting the definition of De Vos and Dries (2013, p.1819) the public policy is defined as the ultimate guide or the actions that are taken by the administrative executive branches of the state while considering a collection of aspects with an approach that is consistent with the law and institutional customs. In this regard, the foundation of the public policy is based on the existing international and national law regulations. On the other hand, post-modernization is the late 20th century practices in the aspects of arts, architecture, and criticism that have greatly deviated from the concepts and practices of modernism. As such, the post-modernization approves the notion of pluralism which implies that there are numerous aspects of knowing and many truths attached to a specific fact (Harris 2013, p.205). From the two definitions, it is important to note that the concept of economic development. Cultural changes and the changes in the political orientation of a country are directly related in a coherent and some instances to predictable patterns. This is perceived as a controversial and contradictory claim which implies that some of the specific changes to the socioeconomic aspects are more likely than others and consequently that some of the specific changes are foreseeable. According to De Vos and Dries (2013, p.1820), an advanced industrial society is involved in the underlying shifts in their values and as such de-emphasizing on the existing instrumental rationality that is widely known to characterize the industrial society. Owing to the diverse impacts of the post-modernization to the public policies, this essay is devoted to analyzing the impacts of the post-modernization to the public policies. Impacts of post-modernization to public policies Basically, James (2014, p.90) opines that the post-modernization language plays a major role in the development and implementation of the public policies which is also associated with the political implications of the linguistic practices. More importantly, the public policies are impacted based on how the linguistic practices are involved in helping in constructing and maintenance of the personal and collective identities. According to James (2014, p.97), the public policies can benefit from the post-modernization based on how the latter emphasizes on how the discourse constructs identity. Postmodernization assists in the prospect of highlighting on the extent to which the policy discourses and the public policies are directly or indirectly implicated in the construction and maintenance of the public policies actively in approaches that have distinct implications for the scarce resources allocation. Jirachiefpattana (2013, p.15) argue that this is uniformly applicable to all the public policy whether it is international or domestic in orientation. In addition, the situation does not discriminate the status in terms of social, economic or a military in orientation or primarily targeted to the focus of the states, the nations, organizations, different groups, and the involved individuals. According to Shedyakov (2015, p.17), the Public policies are made in and are more specifically a section of the world that is rapidly changing in its diversifications. As such, the shift from the modernization to the post-modernization is likely to impact on the public policy existence positively. The postmodernism changes are characterized by numerous factors such as the technological developments which are all accessible to the increasing portions of the individuals in the world. More specifically, Shedyakov (2015, p.20) argue that in Australia, the large-scale population movements in association with their neighboring countries are determined by the emergence of the new social, political, economic and religious movements in the country. Additionally, to affirm this assertion, numerous financial analysts of these changes are in universal agreement that the post modernisations have direct impacts on the Australian policies and the different prospects of the policy making. Adopting a global consideration, Head and Alford (2015, p.714) demonstrate that it is worth noting that an increasingly complex world of interrelated issues requires a better-connected policy responses on the basis of the more sophisticated and robust analyzes of the existing causes and possible solutions. In regard to the above analysis, it is worth noting that two rather distinct prospects can efficiently be obtained. In one hand, Gauchat (2012, p.169) explain that the need for an increased connectedness which is elicited by post-modernization is found to increase the range of people who have a legitimate right to be actively involved in the policy process and as such increasing on the overall complexities of the entire process while at the same time ensuring that the public policy is all inclusive. On the other hand, it is evident that the common belief that the existence of a greater analytical rigor may be used as an approach to simplifying the political different choices that directly face the decision makers is a suggestion that a more exclusive and technocratic future is imminent. However, Head and Alford (2015, p.713) explain that the aspect of postmodernism impact on the public policy can be traced back in 1950 where the theorists of the policy making have been actively grappling with the concerns regarding the overall roles and scope of the government in public policy. This is also determined by the concern whether the main responsibilities of the policy analysis would actively narrow down or actively open up the different options of the distinct policy debates. The most outstanding element in the regard to the post-modernization and public policy is the concept of enthralled with modernity. The concept indicates the existence of different renewed interests in the potentiality of the public policy making for the sake of meeting the new social and diverse political challenges which are a new aspect in the post-modernization perpetuated from the modernization era (Post and Preston 2012, p.127). The most important aspect in understanding the impact of the post-modernisation to the public policies recognizes the attempts that have been made in reinventing the government and modernizing the policy making processes and the quality of the evidence available. Precisely, Van Dooren, Bouckaert and Halligan (2015, p.108) reveals that in Australia, the long tradition of the students of public policy and administration. In regard to the wider epistemological debates regarding the different methods and claims to the truth of the social sciences which are the directly related to the claims of the truth associated with the social sciences. This implies that the post-modernization elicit a direct relationship between the research and policy that have elicited a last decade increment in the evidence-based policy making. Thomas (2015, p.444) opines that the majority of the analysis have found that the post-modernization concept has elicited an improvement of the utilization of the diverse forms of evidence in the different policy settings and on the consequences associated with following of various research traditions in the entire social sciences field where the public policy falls. In regard to the public policy evaluation, it is worth noting that the post-modernization processes have enhanced solving of the entire decade debate on the relative merits. De Vos and Dries (2013, p.1822) explain that this includes the experimental designs and the realistic approaches and constructive methodologies which are all equally important in the policy evaluation for the enactment of the public policy processes. In this regard, the utilization of the post-modernization in regard to the public policy is enhanced by the relative merits of the experimental debates and the different realistic approaches which also include the constructive methodologies which establish the public policies in the organization management. In the different research works, they conclude that the impacts of the post-modernization are directly impacted by the products of its epistemological and methodological foundations (Harris, 2013, p.209). This is in line with the expectations of the quality, timeliness and the relevance of the entire process. This is as opposed to the pre-modernization and modernisation era of having credible approaches in conceptualizing the demand side of the public policy in management and the diverse steps that must be taken for its successive implementation. It is a fact that the concept of the post-modernization impacts on the public policies has extensively been evaluated by different researchers leading to a prospective scrutinization and debating for numerous years. For instance, James (2014, p.94) study indicated that the post-modernization and the factors associated with it have led to the series of scrutinization on how it impacts on the public policy implementation in management. However, the existing link between the factors is still unclear whether it is consensual, graceful or self-evident. Theoretically, Jirachiefpattana (2013, p.17) argue that it is worth noting that the post-modernization aspects in management are characterized by a more rhetoric device for the purpose of denoting the existing belief in the likelihood of the improvement and the forward progress of the public policy making. In addition, according to Shedyakov (2015, p.19), this process is equally involved in ensuring and signifying the commitment in improving and believing in the different possibilities. The post-modernization of the Australia management operations are a precise signification of existence of a contemporary phenomenon which is subject to numerous changes. The public policy has now reached a situation where it is greater than the usual changes that were previously evident in the previous eras of modernization due to the current major social and political developments. In this regard, Shedyakov (2015, p.23) argue that due to the post-modernization prospects, the public policy has the capacity of enhancing the existence of a more responsiveness to the most popular concerns, a higher quality of the quality of the public services and the greater application of the new technologies available today. This also enhances the existing promise to the value rather than denigrating the public policy in the different organizations. However, Head and Alford (2015, p.716) demonstrate that these benefits could only be achieved through instituting diverse approaches such as ensuring that the public policy is focusing on the delivery of the outcomes and an ideal ideological predisposition to ensure the Australian government support in their diverse strategies. It is a fact that the post-modernization has been characterized by new institutional policies and arrangements in the different organizations for the purpose of driving forward the various public policy changes in the groups. This also helps the management of the different organization to ensure that they effectively spread to the emerging good practices more widely in the entire business operations among other instances of governance. According to Gauchat (2012, p.170), the postmodernism is involved in the turning of the different modernist stresses of the rationality and the different objectives knowledge. In this regard, the public policy in itself is applied in interrogating on the different practices in the organization management in the modernist ways and how they are implemented in the constructing knowledge in the art, science, philosophy, different pieces of literature and law. However, instead of the post-modernization sourcing for the exact truth of the public policy implementation in the organization management, the modernism proprietors seeks to highlight the different practices which are directly involved in the constructing the different representations of the truth. Additionally, Head and Alford (2015, p.716) explain that the current postmodernism practices are directly associated with the deconstruction aspect which is associated with the pointing out of how the different aspects of the public policies must, more importantly, invoke the different discursive practices for the purpose of preserving its coherence in the organization's management. In this regard, it is worth noting that the post-modernization is the ideal concept that can be efficiently be adopted in integrating the post-structural orientation in the organization. This enhances the encouragement of the dematerialization of the different structures into discursive practices that have a positive impact on the public policy and their implementation. As such, Gauchat (2012, p.173) contends that the post-structural perspectives are used in denying the different structures of their materiality as aspects that can effectively be noticed in their independence of their discourse. The impacts of the post-modernization in this regard is dematerialization the structures in the organization's management for the purpose of the interrogation of the prevailing systems of the different interpretations (Post and Preston 2012, p.129). In this regard, it is worth noting that the stabilization of the various structures of understanding serves as the most important structuring process of the different activities that differentiates the different systems of management. This implies that the post-modernization has enhanced the structure of the different social, economic and governmental aspects which are all important in the management and public policy. Van Dooren, Bouckaert and Halligan (2015, p.109) shows that assuming this perspective and a narrative in this analysis, it is worth noting that the value is created in a situation where the different discursive structures are efficiently stabilised for serving on the basis and for enabling the individuals to value some specific identities and interests over others. This is the most important aspect of the public policy as it facilitates the distinct identity that emerges out of the messages attributed to the organization management and their differences. The post-modernization interrogations that are evident in the organization operations are helpful in ensuring the contestation of the different prevailing structures on the approaches in which they allocate their different values as determined by the public policy. James (2014, p.96) study indicated that this also includes the privileges of some of the distinct identities that are focused on the invidious distinctions which are all important for the different management set-ups of organizations. In future, it is evident the there will be more destabilization of the consistent structural constraints that are currently in existence in the modern organizations. As such the public policies will have achieved the aspect of normality, conformism and a consistent behavior in the wake of the current globalization of the social forces that are beyond the control of the organization process. Conclusion Post-modernization includes all the external and internal factors that occur in an organization eliciting different impacts on the public policy which determine the operations of the management. In light to this, the state of the post-modernization has diverse implications for the management and organizations public policy. This is based on the fact that the public policy is comprised of the operations that characterize the interactions of an organization management with their external environment. It is hence important to consider the aspect of post-modernization while developing the public policy that should be followed by all the involved parties. References De Vos, A., & Dries, N. (2013).
