The author of this article is Professor Timo, Kivimaki, who works in the department of peace and conflict research in the University of Uppsala in Sweden. The article talks about the relationship of the Middle East and the United State, especially after the terrorists’ attack that took place in America. The relationship is fragile and the article tries to look at the courses of this relationship. However, the article does not clearly explain, how the NATO operation supported democracy uprising. It says it is difficult to measure the benefits and cost of enforcing democracy but does not explain clearly. This source will be important in my final essay as I will use to enhance good relationships between countries and continents. This article is written by Mohammed Sherif and Nguyen, HaiNam. The article talks about the characteristics of good leadership in countries and organizations. For any organization to succeed it must have leaders who are have great values and knowledgeable of the management issues. The audience of this article is leaders in general of various countries. The article however does not give examples of good leaders which organizations can emulate. This article will be important in my final essay since I will need to analyze the leadership style of Philippines. I will be in a position to know the good leadership style that Philippines and other countries can use for a democratic change. Ruscio, K. (2004). The Leadership Dilemma in Modern Democracy. London: Edward Elga Publishing. In this book, Ruscio explains the concept of democratic leadership to both developing and developed nations and explains the facts using political theory. He tries to apply as much economic logic in explaining the imbalances in both sets of countries. The way the author puts across his arguments is of great essence in this research as it explains how leaders in these democracies reason. It is very suitable for this research as it offers an insight into the eventual purpose of the research. Avant, Deborah D. Analysing Middle East Foreign Policies: The Relationship with Europe. With Philippines as a case country in this study, it is essential to understand how the Middle East countries partake their foreign policies and relations, and especially the underlying reasons. It states the reasoning behind what is termed as democracy and puts up an argument of what really is democratic leadership. This book provides the right ground for an argumentative reasoning of how and why various democracies are the way they are by focusing on the influence of the leaders. Governments are required to study the link between the two as well as other political leadership strategies to learn from the historical contexts. Through the set out strategies, countries in Asia can be able to put in place measures which will ensure that globalization does not only lead to political growth and development but also enhances good governance and democracy. For any country to succeed in using such policies, its leaders must possess knowledge and values of good leadership and proper management of the different resources in that particular nation. New York: United Nations University Press.  In this book, the author talks about the democratization process in the Middle East and South East Asia by addressing a number of critical issues which determine the success or failure of sustainable economic growth and democracy in the region. The author argues that most of the states in Asia have not succeeded in attaining the required level of democracy and economic growth despite the potential which counties like Philippines have. The author adds that movement towards economic, political, cultural and social liberalization has resulted in some form of instability in the region thus impacting negatively on sustainable growth. Nations such as Israel and Philippines which have put in place the right leadership and management approaches have already started making the right steps towards growth and sustainability.  Bellin, E. The authors argues that most nations in Asia especially the Arab nations are unable to attain economic development and democracy due to the various authoritarian practices of the leaders. The author talks about how the leadership structures and approaches in a nation affects the kind of development and growth which will be achieved in that given country. Bellin (2005) remarks that nations which have made democracy promotion a key foreign policy goal in the region have been able to impact positively on the growth and development of other nations. The need to promote effective leadership and management strategies has forced nations to remodel both their domestic and foreign policies in an attempt to stimulate economic development. Wenta, R. Economic globalization has strengthened international organizations in different countries. The result is the promotion of acceptable norms, good governance and democracy. Policy makers have made the internationalization process a key consideration coming up with policies and leadership approaches which are meant to promote growth and economic sustainability in Asia. The internationalization finances, production and sales has therefore provided nations with a proven system which can be used to encourage good leadership and proper management of resources.
