Organizational Behavior Popovich’s approach to politics of change and the reason as to why managers should pay precise attention The business environment of profit making and non-profit making organizations often falls into conflicts from the environmental forces. Managers find it hard and challenging to contain the forces, but failure to establish a precise approach that would eventually eradicate or curb the threats; the organization may finally fail to achieve the set goals and objectives. Popovich encourages managers to pay equal attention to conflicting situation in the organization as they would amass the desired information to implement correct measures that would serve to curb any damages and create an avenue for success. To achieve this success, managers should perceive the challenges as valuable opportunities to the environment with the intention of strategizing on effective plans to acquire the set goals. Behn Behn denotes on the various methods that the managers would adopt to, in their bid to ensure that the organizations run in the desired ways. For example, Behn argues out on the various conflicting situations that undermine efficiency of programs in organization. Behn argues out on the effective approaches that managers should perceive as important in alleviating bad circumstances that may result to underperformance in the organization. He argues out that managers should engage in practices that coagulate the personnel to oneness for performances aimed at achieving the target degree of performance. For instance, Behn observes that managers should empower healthy groupings and seek to outlaw the ones that seem to aim at downplaying the organization’s set of goals. He argues out that public managers may motivate public employees and citizens as well via an approach called “groping along”. Light Light perceived that the best approaches that managers would embark on in ensuring that performances were done in accordance to set goals were those that put into consideration the dimensions of all employees on both the negative and positive sides. He observed that whenever an employee committed an offense, it would be unethical for managers to take immediate actions in punishing the employee. Light emphasized that managers to non-profit making organization should show concern in evaluating the best approaches to evaluate the probable amount of work that the employees would perform. Therefore, light reveals that attentive approach to politics of change by understanding both the negative and positive attributes is vital in ensuring a lasting solution. Denhardt and Denhardt The authors focused on the issue of solving politics of change in the working by initially establishing the extent of knowledge born of particular managers. This curbs the prevalence of unjust decisions that the managers may issue after the occurrence of a conflicting situation. They reflect on non-profit making organizations as able to perform only through the adaptation of Behn’s “groping along” method. Through the approach of cognitive and behavioral practices, managers may easily establish on the employees who are likely to steer the non-profit making organization to a higher level despite the challenges available. Eventually, Denhardt and Denhardt assume that a manager lacking adequate knowledge shall fall into stress and depression while trying to solve employee related problems. Four key insights for working with the media Managers may prefer the use of televisions over any other means in the organizations whenever employees conflict amongst themselves and pose controversy in their practices to achieve the common goals and objectives. Most likely, managers would relay specific messages through audio and visual images as the method puts emphasis the issue being tackled. Televisions are expensive to install throughout the organization thus; managers should ensure that they are set at the most appropriate places likely to attract most of the employees at given times. Secondly, use of printed materials as a means of communicating to the employees may be effective at given times compared to other means of communication. As a means of communication, printed materials bear all the information that a person may be seeking to relay and are the most appropriate in executing the desired information to readers who similarly sought to use printed media with the urge to find deeper and detailed information. The online media might be useful to an organization that wishes to convey information to a wide group of recipients. The individuals may resolve to print soft copies of the information that they seek to relay to the recipients for a desired reputation on the organizations prospects and undertakings. Online media differs in conveyance of information and it is advisable for a person to evaluate and resolve to relaying information that does not contradict the reader. The main insights of radio station revolve around the demographic segmentation of the recipient group. Advice is that a non-profit making organization should analyze the population in accordance to age, languages, lifestyles, generations, religious, and social practices. The effective use of radio in conveyance of governmental messages is inversely relative to the above analyses and ignorance or neglect may harbor achievement of the desired objectives. Presumptions are that the best radio station of use as an informative one is the most listened station. Finally, non-profit making organizations may have to use press conferences in relaying information to a target group of people. However, communication through press conferences preserves the need for urgency thus; the management of these non-profit making organizations should evaluate all the factors necessary for the use of press conferences. It is the fastest mode of communication to a target group of individuals as the briefing conducted before the actual press conferences draws the target group to pay attention to all the proceedings.
