There have been cases that even went up to the court because of an alleged intrusion of privacy. However, legal implication of this matter only applies if and when the employee defied a public law (Fact Sheet 7, 2009). If the employee breaks any law, that is the time that the employer can actually terminate his employment.

There are cases in which the employee breaches clauses on his contract regarding the use of company email, phone and Internet. Technically, when an employee uses these systems within the workplace, the employee is using company property so when he begins using these in excess and for his own personal use, there is no guarantee that what he is doing will not be monitored (Fost, 2004; Woodbury, 1998). Workplace monitoring has been an issue because of these concerns. Ethical and personal concerns focus on the employee’s right to privacy.

But there are also legal implications in the matter as the employee is using a system owned by the company and the employee is still under the clause of his contract, if applicable to his contract, and under the law’s jurisdiction. Monitoring of the employee’s use of these systems is still important for the company since there can be a possible breach in the contract or in the confidentiality of company materials and other trade secrets. It is important, however, to explain this to the employee upon employment rather than informing him only at the time that he has already committed something wrongful for the company.

Awareness is the key to make sure that policies are implemented and followed by the employees. If they didn’t know what the company is doing and the consequences of such actions, then, there are possible conflicts about it. On the part of the employees, when at the workplace, knowing that they should be working, they should at least minimize as possible the use of these systems for personal purposes. They are at work because of their job responsibilities. And they are bound by their contract of these responsibilities.

9/11 Commission Report The purpose of the report is to present to the public information about the past, the present and the future of the different departments and groups involved within the 9/11 attacks. It gives an account of the 9/11 attacks and how the new terrorism began. It also gives a recommendation for the improvement of the communication and prevention plan of the government and the different organizations that should have been able to prevent the attacks. The report was able to accommodate various levels of reading and a diverse audience.

It tried to maintain a language that any reader can understand and it tried to explain information and concepts that can be foreign to some. Though is not a report that a common person would read from start to finish, it provided important details about the 9/11 attacks and the new terrorism that the United States faced, information vital for other readers of the report, like the government and educators. The report maintained a tone that is neither solemn nor subdued. It declares facts in an educating and historical manner, not reprimanding though it presented how it could have been possible to prevent the attacks given that there was a plan set out in similar cases.

The recommendations are crucial as it gives an enlightened hope that the mistakes that brought the 9/11 attacks can be corrected and similar incidents can possibly be prevented. The entire report actually tries its best to convey a message that everyone can understand. It tries to maintain the reader’s focus and help him read the entire report.
