Lincoln's words as a writer, debater, public speaker, conversationalist, and humorist clearly demonstrated his excellent communication skills. Lincoln also had a great sense of personal contact. This type of connection was meaningful to him and his leadership, and he committed himself to it to make sure the United States achieves its dreams of being a united nation.He was good at telling stories, which enabled him to nurture excellent communication skills. Through storytelling, he expressed himself well and even motivated other people, through his thoughts, and beliefs.

His habits of expression allowed him to search for a point where he could meet with the peoples` collective mind. Through these acts, he influenced people who looked up to and even followed him.During the Gettysburg address, for instance, Lincoln demonstrated his power of communication and influential abilities. His voice was penetrating as well as far-reaching, and people far away from him could listen to him clearly. He clearly passed the message that it was their responsibility to finish what their loved ones, who were dead, had started.

His sense of personal contact was clearly evident when he stayed close to the troops, and reminding them that they were crucial agents towards achieving America`s vision. He even visited the wounded soldiers recuperating in hospitals. For example, after the initial battle of Bull Run, he made several visits to the soldiers in hospitals.To sum up this discussion, Abraham Lincoln`s characters of good communication, maintaining high levels of personal contact and being a highly influential person earned him respect from people all over the world.

His leadership styles are being emulated as traits of good leadership.
