Organization Culture Pictorial Project: Starbucks Company Organization Culture Pictorial Project: Starbucks Company Introduction There are several companies that have made a lot of efforts to maintain or improve their competitive advantage. They have done all that is in their capability to ensure that the quality of the products they offer to their customers is high. With this, they ensure that there is a high rate of customer attraction as well as retention. Some of the methods that they use to retain the level of competition with their particular fields is through the use of innovative techniques as well as the application of current technological skills in their operations. However, the most common technique that is used by the majority of companies that are rated among the top in the world includes the maintenance of a particular organizational culture. This is reflected from the way that items are placed and arranged within the buildings, from the exterior appearance of the buildings and from the way that activities and organized and conducted within the firms. It is from the way that the Starbucks conducts its activities and portrays the elements within and without the building that elicits a lot of my interest towards the company. Starbucks Company Culture as is represented by Both Interior and Exterior Pictures At Starbucks, a strong culture has been inculcated among all the employees. This is meant to motivate and encourage all the employees at all levels of management. Subsequently, this culture is extended to the customers who get the most impressive customers. The exemplary services provided by the employees make the customers want to come back for more service as well as attracts other new customers. In turn, the company has managed to witness a tremendous growth in their profits and the revenues they receive. Several cultures are developed within the Starbucks Company. They can be depicted from the following pictures that are taken outside and inside the building. At Starbucks, one of the most important things is the organizational culture. It starts from the leaders at the top management of the company. The president of the company describes himself as one who is fanatical about communication. This is a photo that reflects the manner in which the activities of the Starbucks Company are conducted within the premises. In particular, it reflects the kind of culture that is maintained among the employees. It is based on the American culture where a lot of efforts are made to save as much cash as possible but not at the expense of the employees. As such, the company promotes productivity by including the employees as partners in the business and making them to not only have the feeling that they are employees but that they are Starbucks itself (Burrows, 2015). This is the slogan of the Starbucks Company. It is placed just above the entrance door. It is an indication of the complete experience that the customers at Starbucks get. According to the management at the company, quality is one of the things that are highly valued and is thus found as part of the experience that customers get at Starbucks. With the quality aspect, the company is extremely fascinating in terms of the services that it is able to provide. It has become a great deal beyond the fact that it merely promotes coffee. At Starbucks, there is a very strong culture that is found on the ability to deal with the customer in an ethical manner and make the customer responsive. It is evident that the Starbucks Company has faithful customers who are extremely satisfied with the service they receive. With a focus on high quality, the company has tried to do all that is within their capacity to give their customers an individual name by offering the preferred drink and pastry (Burrows, 2015). A major culture that is upheld by the Starbucks company is that of innovation through which a number of business solutions are found. It also assists in the development of partners, recruitment as well as the retention of the partners. This culture is represented in the image shown above. This image shows one of the drinks that are produced by the Starbucks Company. It is coffee that is made using ice cubes and flavor to give it that distinct taste and a different quality from the normal coffee. Since the Starbucks company has currently made the efforts to make use of Green Coffee extracts as opposed to the roasted coffee to give their customers a distinct experience, this cup of coffee is an example of that culture by the company to turn the ordinary into extraordinary. With this culture, the organization has been able to use numerous forms of innovation to attract and retain their customers. Starbucks has continued to provide good coffee for its customers. It has done this through the use of technology and innovative ideas to improve and provide the best for its customers. One of the cultures that have been created at Starbucks is the element of diversity and inclusion. This is not only found among employees but also for the customers. It is for this reason that the company has made a lot of attempts to franchise and make their servicers available in many parts of the world. Many other premises similar to the one available in the picture are available not only in the United States, but also in China and India. This is an indication that the company does not discriminate and has opened its doors to people of all cultures. At Starbucks, the customer is considered to be the element of focus and value. They are considered first. As such, all the services and activities that take place at the premises revolve around the customers. As a result of this, the furniture and other equipment have been designed in such a way that they give comfort and offer that out of the world experience for the customers. For instance, the furnishings that are done using the traditional option and the graceful music that plays in the background for the customers creates an entire environment for the people to enjoy and have a wonderful experience. The experience is aimed at providing the chance to the customers who visit the premise to get the opportunity to get out of their homes and offices to just unwind and think. Ultimately, each customer feels welcome and comfortable. Therefore, they come from all walks of life and from different levels of financial capabilities (Burrows, 2015). All the activities within the Starbucks Company radiate relaxation calm and comfort. This flows from the upper management, the junior staff members to the customers whom they serve. In this sense, the picture is an indication of the diversity and inclusion culture that is cultivated by the company. This culture is placed at the core of the leadership competencies. Most leaders at the company are expected to express behavior that reflects the element of inclusion. Therefore, the company goes to all lengths to ensure that they reach out a leverage point of view in relation to the talents and capabilities of the staff employed. The company works and thinks across the teams, functions and businesses. It also does this across the available markets, organizations and channels that are related to it. Various cultures, communities, physical and digital spaces are included to build a diverse workforce and to increase the cultural competencies. In turn, the company is able to shape the culture of inclusion and develop a diverse network of those who supply varied products. Conclusion Starbucks is one of the companies that operates within the coffee industry and has attracted a great deal of interests from its customers. This kind of interest is based on the fact that the company has for many years built a strong foundation in relation to their culture. A strong culture has been built in relation to quality of products and services. This is commonly shared by all the employees beginning from the top management operations. This culture is depicted everywhere within the buildings of the franchised enterprises. It can also be seen from outside the buildings from where a number of activities are conducted.
