Self knowledge assists individuals to know their skills, values and interests. This is crucial because individuals are able to get into careers that are more satisfying. Market knowledge helps individuals to be aware of the available opportunities. This is most important to those who want to seek jobs in private sectors where they might need to change jobs.
Effective self presentation entails how a person will conduct himself in interviews. It is therefore important to consider a person’s interests and skills to avoid frustrations in jobs.Market KnowledgeThis is very important because individuals are able to know the available opportunities. Without market knowledge people might have a difficult time in choosing jobs that they will enjoy. Market knowledge offers the opportunity presented by both the private and federal sectors (Robin, 2002).
Individuals get information on career opportunities and this might assist them when they want to change jobs.Self PresentationKnowledge of self presentation is very important because individuals know how they should handle themselves in interviews. Self presentation requires writing of resume, which are different in private and federal sectors (Robin, 2002). People should not allow their resume to be written by other people because it will be misguiding. They are advised to write the resumes themselves then present them to professionals for correction.
