And if yes, then how does employees’ engagement relate to employees’ performance, i.e. positively or negatively? This study aims at investigating the relationship between employee engagement and organizational performance with particular reference to the Nigerian Public Sector, i.e. Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and National Information Technology Development. In order to conduct this study, the researcher made use of primary research and obtained information related to employees’ engagement level and Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and NITDA’s performance through survey questionnaire and interviews. The researcher selected 150 respondents for survey and interviewed 10 managers. The results obtained in this study show that there is a positive relationship between employees’ engagement and organizational performance. Moreover, it has also been concluded that the employees working in Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and NITDA are highly engaged and this high level of employee engagement has translated into improved organizational performance. Background to the Context The term ‘employee engagement’ can be argued to be a comparatively new in managerial practices, as it emerged in the last decade (Bhatia, 2011). The concept of employee engagement can be elaborated as the degree of employees’ commitment towards attainment of organizational goals and objectives. Engagement of employees can also be regarded as the sense of responsibility developed in employees in relation to their contribution and performance for overall betterment of organization (Schaufeli & Solanova, 2007; Exec, 2007). In the fast changing corporate world of today, it is strongly felt by the organizations that employees are their assets and it is due to this reason that organizations in general and management in particular have started give importance to the concept of employee engagement (Bhatia, 2011; Adi, 2012). However, the question arises whether employees’ engagement has something to do with the performance level of employees? The current study deals with an understanding of the capability of a performance appraisal system in influencing the employee performance within an organization. The focus of the study has been to understand whether there is a need to incorporate alternative measures within organizations to effectively influence organizational employees.
This research examined the impact of employee motivation on organisational performance by assessing employee motivation in an organisation in the United Kingdom. Employee motivation was assessed by conducting qualitative and quantitative researches through semi-structured interviews and survey questionnaires, respectively.
This has proven to be a challenge, since employee engagement is by nature subjective and intangible, making it at first impression impervious to outright quantification. Yet articles from professional and academic journals have presented narratives about organizations which have successfully made use of employee engagement indices to aid managers in their decisions making that ultimately improved their companies’ performance.
The research focuses on the extent to which female educators’ engagement with their work and their organisation have been affected. The literature provides evidence of research being carried out on indogenous factors affecting employee engagement. Terrorism’s impact on women is largely ignored in the broader context of the schools of the region.
2. Why the particular problem/issue or topic was chosen The above topic was chosen because of the following reasons: a) the specific problem is rather common in firms operating in various industries; in fact, in many cases, employees seem unwilling to participate in such initiatives, a trend which should be appropriately evaluated in order to prevent potential turbulences within the organizations involved, b) in Lloyds TSB significant efforts are made for the update of the firm’s existing strategies – aiming to stabilize the organizational performance; the avoidance of employees to participate in the particular survey indicates low job satisfaction or lack of effective communication acro

The researcher is determined to understand the contribution of employees’ motivational levels on individual and organizational performance; to increase the effect of employee motivation on individual performance and to clarify the differences/similarities in the effects of financial and non-financial rewards on organizational performance, so that an improved incentive system can be generated.
People who are driven by a sense of purpose at what they do seek to achieve a two-fold mission: to find personal meaning in what they do, and to do so in a way that provides meaning to the society in which they live. For employees, the immediate social context is the workplace. A worker’s toil provides value to the business.
Most of the firms are trying to measure their employee engagement and relate the same to job satisfaction for identifying the efficacy of their human resource management. However, from the perspective of the employees, the aspect of employee engagement is related to their career opportunities.
