? Insert Insert Insert Introduction: Management is broadly defined as the act of making things done through other people. On this scope, the main concept considered in the definition it to improve effectiveness and efficiency. For a manager to be able to realize more revenues, for him or her to be able to establish perfect operations within the organization and for the manager to be able to enjoy the concept of effective and efficient operation. The adoption of subordinates is equally necessary. All the subordinates are interlinked with the various resources within the organization through a process called control. They are controlled and effectively monitored to ensure smooth sailing of all organizational activities. Time management on the other hand, refers to being able to carry out all your activities, within the allocated time period. An effective time manager does not run out of time. He manages to carry out all the transactions within the stipulated time frame. It is extremely necessary for various parties and individuals to be considerable time managers. This concept ensures efficiency; it ensures effectiveness and finally enables one to be fast in carrying out activities. It reduces redundancy of tasks, enables the organization operate on a planned scope. This is necessary for management to set the various goals and standards since they all depend and rely on time. Management is a doctrine that owes its existence to the ancient professionals. The various scholars and personalities managed to be able to develop various theories that aided and guided the discipline. From Henry Fayol, to Abraham Maslow’s, they all gave their take on the topic management. This is necessary as it has ensured that the discipline’s tangibility remains and it has constantly continued to be regarded as an art, a principle that is learnt. Like management effective time management is also a skill acquired through time. The various personalities manage to acquire the skills through constant practice and sticking to a tight schedule. The first step in being a reasonable time manager is by initially having a schedule. This is necessary to be able to organize all you’re undertaking in a day into one basic event. After organizing the events or activities, the next step is to rank them in the order of urgency. The exact initial subjects that are urgent in terms of delivery production, time they are generally required, and finally the relationship to the returns are sorted out according to the list of urgency. The next step in the time management process is to gather all the necessary resources to be able to accomplish and achieve the said tasks. These involves gathering the necessary resources in terms of materials needed, human resources needed, the respective tools needed to complete the respective tasks. Allocation of the resources to the particular organizational endeavors is the next step. They are organized and finally the next step is to carry out the activity under siege. It is necessary to plan and manage the planned time. Time as stated is a scarce resources. Time is the only factor at the disposal of various organizations that enables people to carry out their various activities well. It is necessary to plan for it as it ensures effectiveness in the production process, it ensures quality in the well planned products and services offered, it reduces on wastage through effective planning of all the activities and resources the aspect of wastage is reduced as all the resources must have been planned for. It enables urgent orders to be completed with ease and efficiency; it reduces delays and fines charged as a result of a late delivery. As the saying goes, time is money and planning time well various organizational activities will also be planned well. This ensures effectiveness in the operations of the organizations and creates efficiency within the system. Time Management Portfolio As defined Time Management refers to being able to carry out all your activities, within the allocated time period. An effective time manager does not run out of time. He manages to carry out all the transactions within the stipulated time frame. Awareness Statement: The six Assessments on the various time management practices and the various measures inculcated in the time management process have been equally influential in the learning of the concept of time management. It is necessary to consider the various topical outlines that represent the concepts covered in the learning process: Learning Style Inventory: This was efficient enough to be able to learn the various styles of learning. From here I selected the method that was effective and truly much applicable to me. I sought the learning style that generally involves a thorough study, questioning of the concepts learnt, consultations with the teachers and finally reference to further study literature. According to this style the concepts were bound to be encrypted into my brain. Your Best Time of the Day: Through analyzing myself, I found out that my best learning time was during the morning hours. I learnt better and got more concepts from any of the learnt literature during the morning hours. I was also able to be more active at the morning hours. It is on this basis that I concluded Morning hours as my best learning time. Left Brain-Right Brain Preference: Certain subjects were more preferable at certain times of the day by the brain, and equally certain subjects were also preferable during other times of the day. It is on this basis that the analysis of the left Brain-Right Brain was done and a decision on the specific subjects to be read during their preferable times was established. Time Monitor: The clock was the main tool that was useful in the monitoring of the time. The schedule that was inform of the outlined time table also served the purpose of a time monitor and, through it, various activities of the day were thoroughly monitored to be able to compare the set standards against the actual performance. Time Waster: The analysis established time wasters. Some of the examples given included the aspect of procrastination, friends, television and the internets and many other types of time wasters. These were all considered as thieves and the approach of avoiding them was necessary. Time wasters had an effect on the activities planned might be postponed or they might not allow a person to carry out all the planned functions and activities. It was therefore extremely essential to avoid these time wasters as they were thieves of time. Fixed Commitments and Schedules: Activities that had to be done were established and categorized under the fixed schedule tasks. These activities were essential and necessitated that the person does them daily. Study of mathematics was analyzed and categorized as fixed. It was a must to study mathematics on a daily basis to be able to understand the various concepts. Strategy: I will practice to be the most effective time manager and strictly adhere to the reading schedule to be able to manage my time well. B y having a schedule that I plan to strictly adhere to I will be able to read all the subjects within the stipulated allocated time. I will have a tight schedule that will enable me to avoid time wasters. I will plan my reading to read more demanding subjects during morning hours and the less demanding subjects during hours that I can easily understand them. I will be able to gather all the materials inform of books and the various tools that I require to be able to avoid time wasting. I will begin as soon as possible even today in speaking. Practice and Weekly Journal For analyzing the effectiveness of an established occurrence, it is necessary to evaluate its progress. In the evaluation process of the Time Management lesson, it is necessary to answer these questions. a) How many times did you apply the strategy this week The strategy chosen was that of thoroughly reading through the concepts, going through other related literature like past papers and finally consultation with the respective teachers and tutors of the subject. I applied it five times this week from Monday to Friday. b) How Successful was the strategy According to me very successful. As I managed to remember all the topics that I learned during this particular week. I therefore plan to continue with this approach and style of study. c) Do you need to make any changes in the way you use it? Approaching more teachers for consultations is the challenge I need to overcome. I not only need to go to my teachers but also the teachers of the other subjects. In application of these changes, I’m sure my study style will be effective. d) Do you need any help with the Strategy? If so what? The main change I need is on the part of the teachers. Some of them are unresponsive and consider consultations as irrelevant. They need to be advised of the importance of consultations and, they need to also reinstate the importance of these to some students. They need to create more avenues where students access their teachers and tutors for help. The Teacher student ratio should be increased to ensure more teachers on the part of the students. e) What are your thoughts about using the strategy? I plan to continue using the strategy and through thorough implementation of the outlined tasks follow it to the latter. I also plan to use it until the end of my study period until I do my final paper. Final Awareness Statement: How was it using the Strategy for 3 Weeks During the start challenging, but as the progress of the implementation was ongoing, I managed to slowly overcome the challenges of the strategy. Waking up early to read and strictly following teacher for consultations and other research materials. This facilitated me to inculcated the study habit and manage my time well. What you have gained From This Assignment: This assignment has enabled me to identify my effective study style. From it I also have managed to inculcate time management strategies, I also have been able to learn the various ways I could be able to reduce the time wasters and be able to avoid time wasting. I have also been equipped with the necessary managerial skills and I am definitely sure im in line with passing my exams. Identify the Time Management Practices that were effective to you: The aspect of developing a schedule, managing my schedule and reducing time wasters was the main time management strategies that ensured I successfully sailed through with all my endeavors’. I am now able to be the best time manager as these were my main impediments. I can know effectively avoid the time wasters and I’m not a victim of postponing duties. Conclusion: Time is money, and planning time well on e is in line with increasing wealth.The importance of good time management should be emphasized, this will enable the effective carrying out of all the organizational activities, mentioned activities are also able to be effectively accomplished.
