ESSAY QUESTIONS Industrial Revolution Industrial revolution is described as the process through which humanity moved from using manual labor, hands and animals to industries and machines. Instead, during this period, the humanity embraced new technology, use of chemicals and machines in processing and manufacturing departments. This was more effective mostly in the textile industry. This whole transition and revolution can be dated mid-18th century to mid-19th century to be precise. Impacts of industrial revolution ranged from improved efficiency, high and quality production to improved humanity living standards. The revolution was braced by a stride in improved efficiency. A good example is the improvement of the steam engine, although it was not such a modern machine, the water propelled machine was improved and was more efficient than before. This was later followed by efficiency in the fields that steam engines were used. For example, paper industry. Olson & Shadle (2002, p.126) stated “the transport and agriculture industries grew more efficient during the industrial revolution period”, they describe this period as the innovation period. In the same period, it was evidence the improvement of the standards of living among people. This was characterized by more jobs, which were created through the many industries that cropped out. Because of the availability of jobs, humanity was able to afford social amenities, nutritious food, housing and clothing was improved especially through the textile industry. The humanity race since 18th century has continuously gained more standard maybe as a reflection of the continuous growth in the industrialization and other economic sectors. The products that were produced during and after the industrial revolution were by far better that those that we used before. The volumes also increased with the use of machine while at the same time cost decreased. This brought about increase commercial production and better quality product that were of high quality. In conclusion, the impacts that were brought about in this era were phenomenal; despite the fact that they had their own demerits, they were of substantial. The negative side of the industrial revolution mostly lies in the environmental sector. Smoke production, poisonous gas release to the air and even cutting down of trees was some of the harmful impacts worth noting; nevertheless, the revolution was all success. Ethical theories by Baase Ethical theories are description of rules that are expected to guide and determine how groups of people who have a common cross point make their decision. Baase explained a number of ethical theories and to be precise she took the computer professional and the computer technology view. Baase explains the normative and the applied ethical theories and explain the level of misuse by the users and the professionals in the computer technology. Concerning normative theory, Baase explain the need of the need for ethical actions. The normative theory explained and examined standards for correctness and wrongness of events. She focused on the character of those who were acting and on the position, regulation and nature of the act. For example, the use of computer in the current times has failed to provide ethical credibility; therefore, it would be prudent if the users maintained a normative ethical approach. On the other hand, applied ethic theory was all about how the product and in these case the technological products like the computer were used, either ethically or not. She argued that professional conducts and social conducts ought to be maintained in order to maintain applied ethics. The theory argues that moral relativism would lead to some people feeling offended by others as the right to determine of what is right and wrong lies with person facing that particular situation. She argued that every person had to maintain high level of ethics while applying their minds especially in the social platforms where everybody has his or her own opinion. The fact that there are no set conducts or regulations makes it even more difficult to be applied. The fact that no regulator does the regulation makes these platforms more venerable. Other places include, casual jobs places where people’s earnings are more important than the reputation they leave behind hence the overlooking of ethics. With the increase in the level of technological development, it has poised a great ethical danger. Nevertheless, it is very possible to curb the intolerance of each other in these places and to regulate these platforms. In conclusion, Baase maintained the need for ethical production and use of the produced gargets. She explains the need for every person to be socially responsible and embrace ethical practices. In other words, she expects everybody to act professionally and maintain, “Various national and international professional societies and organizations had to produce code of ethics documents to give basic behavioral guidelines to computing professionals and users” (Baase, 2013, p.350). Democracy in the art of photography The art of photography has in the past decade or so years grown to be an art in every human being life. Before the technological advancement, only a few people could afford the cameras. The art has grown to be a commercial art where people can solely depend on it. It is arguable on whether the development of digital platform in the art of photography has democratized the art. Through digital development the art has been democratized, people have learned more to appreciate the art of photography and even the photographer themselves. On the case of democratization of the art by digital development, different people will argue differently according to their understanding of the art. Some people hold the art close to their heart and understand the art perfectly. These people will always understand the need for quality photos and understand the real characteristics of a quality artwork in that regard. Nevertheless, the setting up of museums like pioneer museum in the United States signifies acceptance of the industries. The eruption of also photography exhibitions also signifies how important the art has been appreciated by many people. Democratization the take a more stand in the art in that, everybody today can at least afford a photo. The art may be misused but it is evident the art has made tremendous growth. The real digitization in the art has occurred in the work tools. Improvement in almost all mobile phones producers has always included the inclusion of a camera in the garget. Although most people appreciate these developments, those people in the art of photography fill threatened. This is because most people will be deceived into low quality work they do themselves that do not qualify to what they may fill as satisfying. Their work is viewed as general, and every other person fill as if he can do it. This is not the case; the cameras that are required to produce quality art are expensive and require special skills. The storage of this work has also improved but more risky especially if the work is personal. In conclusion, the whole photography art industry has grown especially to those who have taken it with the deserved seriousness. The digital platform has made the art to be more popular and people appreciate the product of the art. People have appreciated the artwork and that is why everybody will always want to store memorable moments in this form of art.
