1.1 Project Purpose
The main aim of the project to facilitate the implementation of management information systems in the organization
1.2 Background
Over the years, my organization has faced a myriad of challenges due to adverse decision-making. Following a recent analysis by an external consultant, the management was strongly advised to implement management information systems (MIS) in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the decision-making process. To this end, the organization and methods department was charged with the responsibility of formulating an effective project plan that will see to the implementation of MISs in the organization.
1.3 Project Scope
The project will entail:
Acquisition of new hardware including computers, and networking hardware
Acquisition of data management software (The MIS)
Training of Employees to use the new hardware and software
Installation of hardware and software
1.4 Project Objectives
Enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the organization
Facilitate timely and accurate decision-making
Facilitate data integration to eliminate redundancy

1.5 Technical Specifications (Oz 31)
The system should facilitate systematic and routine data collection according to predetermined rules
It should provide information to support the various managerial functions at different levels of organization i.e. strategic information for senior management, managerial information for middle level managers, knowledge information for knowledge workers and operational information for departmental heads

The scope of project might not be clearly defined therefore, there might be some slight variation from the initial scope of work

Useful project management tools include Microsoft project and Microsoft excel. Microsoft office is a project planning tool that helps to schedule events and associate them to their related costs while indicating the individuals who are responsible for each particular task.
