AutoCAD Electrical is designed after identifying the needs of electrical engineers related to electrical designing. It facilitates the electrical engineers with tools and features that help them in carrying out designing and drafting operations related to electrical designing and drawing. The software is very effectual as it is implemented by many businesses for their procedures dealing with electrical designing. The future of the software is very bright as it is supportive, flexible, easy to use, faster and more reliable as compared to previous designing software. As it is specifically designed for the electrical field, it provides support to the electrical engineers in design operations. Outline AutoCAD Electrical and electrical engineers are interconnected. AutoCAD Electrical software is designed specifically for electrical engineers. In this paper, first the technology of AutoCAD Electrical software is described along with its tools and features. AutoCAD Electrical is a successful software and the businesses are adopting the software for their designing needs. AutoCAD Electrical facilitates with many features that accommodate the electrical engineers with better opportunities for designing and drafting electrical applications. In electrical industry, AutoCAD Electrical software is employed for designing operations and many businesses are shifting from AutoCAD to AutoCAD Electrical because of the efficacy of the software. It is said that AutoCAD Electrical software is designed with better features as compared to AutoCAD. It also helps in making non-electrical designs into electrical designs. After the development of AutoCAD Electrical software, the working procedures of electrical industry is affected a lot as with AutoCAD Electrical software, the designing procedures are more faster, accurate, reliable, supportive and flexible. Future of AutoCAD Electrical software is very bright as it is made cost effective and effectual. The organizations are adopting the software for their business operations related to designing and drafting. AutoCAD Electrical and Electrical Engineers Summary of Technology AutoCAD Electrical is a technology that is gaining reputation with the passage of time. Because of the efficacy of the software, businesses are accessing the software for their needs. AutoCAD Electrical is the enhanced version of AutoCAD that is considered as world leader in the development of 2D and 3D designs and drafting (Brunette, 2007b). AutoCAD electrical is the application software that is designed specially for electrical engineers for accommodating them in designing electrical applications and designs (Chadwick, 2006). The software is designed by Autodesk that has previously designed AutoCAD (Pfeifer, 2007). The software has come up as a major support in the electrical industry because of its specification in terms of electrical field (Shaum, 2006). AutoCAD Electrical can be used by mechanical and electrical engineers collaboratively. AutoCAD Electrical is compatible with AutoCAD. The users of AutoCAD can easily switch to AutoCAD Electrical because it supports all the functionalities of AutoCAD (Brunette, 2007a). The drawings that are created on AutoCAD can be shifted to AutoCAD Electrical with less effort (Pfeifer, 2007). Along with the shifting, AutoCAD Electrical will also assist in converting non-electrical drawings in electrical drawings (Shaum, 2006). AutoCAD Electrical facilitates with many tools that can be employed to concert non-electrical drawings into electrical ones. It is faster, easier and more supportive to the electrical engineers (Montague, 2007). The electrical engineers now have access to a software that is specially designed for them for making electrical designs and for drafting. AutoCAD Electrical is designed with the best features of AutoCAD due to which, it is considered as more efficient and reliable as compared to AutoCAD (Chadwick, 2006). AutoCAD Electrical is there with a lot of features that are helpful in assisting electrical engineers in designing electrical applications (Brunette, 2007b). It facilitates the users with automatic correction of the errors due to which, there is a clear reduction of errors in the development of electrical designs while working with AutoCAD Electrical (Chadwick, 2006). It follows all the international standards in terms of designing and drawing due to which, users present in any region can be benefited with its usage (Shaum, 2006). It has a number of tools that facilitate the users with their working such as design and drafting productivity tools, systematic design tools, panel layout tools, data management and reporting tools and data migration tools (Brunette, 2007a). Its Usage in Industry As mentioned earlier on that AutoCAD Electrical is designed specifically for electrical industry so it is considered effectual for electrical engineers. In electrical industry, it has proved itself a major support in the expansion of businesses (Shaum, 2006). The users of the software consider the software helpful in designing operations. Many electrical engineers have accessed AutoCAD Electrical for their electrical designing (Dunhoft and Jones, 2007). Randy J. Brunette, who is the owner of Brunette Technologies, LLC, reports that he has been making use of AutoCAD software since 1984 and AutoCAD Electrical since 1996. According to his point of view, the software is intensely effectual in helping in creation of electrical drawings and designs (Brunette, 2007b). He reports that he has found out AutoCAD Electrical as a better and enhanced version of AutoCAD. With his usage of AutoCAD, he was unable to perform certain tasks, which are made possible after implementation of AutoCAD Electrical as it has tools such as systematic design tools that facilitate in designing and features such as automatic correction standard drafting and data management that support in performing the designing tasks (Brunette, 2007a). R.A. Jones & Co. have employed access to AutoCAD Electrical and they find it entirely suitable for their operations concerning to electrical designing. The company found the software helpful for their business procedures. According to them, the software keeps the capability of attracting more business as they can perform more tasks in less time, as the software is quite helpful in performance of designing tasks (Dunhoft and Jones, 2007). Impact on Manufacturing Processes AutoCAD Electrical has placed a major impact on manufacturing processes. After the development of CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, the designers got a software that helped people in shifting from manual procedures to automated procedures. Then there was AutoCAD and now, there is AutoCAD Electrical software. With this technology, the designing procedures are much more faster, accurate, error free, easier to perform with much more flexibility and reliability and with better management and production (Shaum, 2006). The manufacturing processes are given a boost because of the AutoCAD Electrical software and it has placed a huge impact on electrical industry. Businesses related to electrical engineering are shifting from AutoCAD to AutoCAD Electrical because the electrical engineers now have a software that is more specific to their tasks (Chadwick, 2006). Future of AutoCAD Electrical Because of the efficacy and supportiveness of AutoCAD Electrical in electrical designing operations, the electrical engineers consider this software as authentic and effectual in helping in designing operations (Dunhoft and Jones, 2007). According to their needs and requirements, this software has a strong future scope and its current performance shows that it is adopted by many designing businesses and electrical engineers internationally because of its efficacy and efficient working (Brunette, 2007a). For electrical engineers, AutoCAD Electrical is a software that is cost effective, efficient, reliable and supportive (Chadwick, 2006). Autodesk which is the creator of AutoCAD Electrical has always come up with new technologies that are cost effective and improved as compared to previous versions of technology developed (Montague, 2007). The organizations that are related to electrical engineering industry and who were previously making use of only AutoCAD software are now switching to AutoCAD Electrical because it consists of a number of tools and features that are supportive and reliable in terms of working with electrical designing such as automatic error reduction tools, data management tools, productivity tools, systematic designing tools and data migration tools (Chadwick, 2006). The organizations will change up their processing from AutoCAD to AutoCAD Electrical because it is supportive and specifically designed for the field of electrical industry and identifies all the needs of the industry (Robbins, 2008).
