Furthermore, health care is an intricate network for information systems because of fast-paced changes in operational functions and aspects like complex management systems and organizational structure, professional culture, and conflict between these factors and informatics (Cho et al. 618; Khatri 75; Ballet al. 82).

The focus in the development of medical informatics has been on clinical systems, particularly electronic patient records instead of on creating management information systems. The number of studies on the impact of MIS on medical informatics is negligible (Payton 38; Wager et al. 62). Yet, the management role is strategically vital to addressing the future challenges of shrinking availability of human resources, growing demands and needs of patients, and efficiency. Information technology serves a major function in MIS to raise information accessibility and application in the decision-making of healthcare managers. From available studies, it is recognized that numerous aspects regarding the organization, information obtained, information system, and users influence the application or usability of information systems (Winter et al. 92; Roy 77; Hartmann 29). The development of MIS in healthcare organizations necessitates a holistic model to take into consideration all such factors (Waldman & Your stone 229; Curry & Knowles 58).
