Extract of sample "Retail Business"

29, October, Anita Lotta-Help What's in a cloud? The retail business is growing and to promote this growth, we must invest more in cloud computing to ensure our company keeps up with changing trends among our consumers. The IaaS platform is still a good option for cloud computing. The movement of some network-hogging applications to the cloud is good to improve the company’s performance and provision of services. The applications that should be moved to the cloud computing platform are those such as the processing of payroll services, storage of large amounts of data about their clients, and other business operations.

The system by which files are arranged, the employee time card management, and analysis of client trends that is those that visit the site should also be outsourced. White Paper on Cloud Computing Cloud computing concept refers to a large number of computers connected together through a network such as the Internet. Through this platform, users are able to access various services and applications depending on their requirements. Cloud computing occurs on various platforms. These are the SaaS, software as a service which involves sharing of software the information contained therein is held in the cloud.

It is popular with applications for sending messages within the office, and those that have managerial function and development. The main reason for its popularity is the fact that it cuts down on the cost of doing business since they outsource the maintenance of hardware and software aspects to their SaaS providers. Companies are able to lease the software for a stipulated time instead of buying the software as a whole. IaaS, infrastructure as a service, offers services like establishing private clouds for big retail businesses that are still growing.

This offers security to the companies’ information and the application that the company requires to run day-to-day operations. They can also establish virtual local area networks and this promotes business growth. Other services offered include those of hosting websites that help in checking redundancies especially when unexpected traffic befalls the site. PaaS, platform as a service is a form of cloud computing that offers a platform for developing applications and other services. The tools required for the creation of these applications are given by the providers.

Clients need to pay a subscription fee to access these services. Some of the benefits include not having to invest in tangible infrastructure, services being easily updated with trends, and budding entrepreneurs being offered a platform to grow and learn and flexibility. The clients’ data is also well protected. Cloud computing can also be classified as public, private, community, and hybrid. Those made for the public are public clouds. The clients have no control over the location of the infrastructure, the security, and the setting of the cloud.

They share a similar platform as everyone else using the cloud hence their information may not be very secure. Then we have the private cloud that is created and tailored for specific companies and their needs. This upside is that data is secured and easily managed whether hosted internally or externally. Then we have the hybrid cloud which offers a compilation of either public, private, or community in one package. This is useful when an unexpected data load floods the private cloud and can be offloaded onto the private cloud.

Public cloud services can be used to interact and be made available to customers while private can store their personal information for internal use. It is also essential when serving two very different markets. A community cloud is a form of private cloud built for different organizations that are in the same field like hospitals. They get to share information with each other while still maintaining security. The applications I’d recommend TRU move to the cloud are the processing of payrolls.

This process is very bulky and ends up causing redundancies in the internal network. The outsourcing will ensure it is executed timely and without interfering with other core functions. It would also be cheaper. The storage of the companies’ information can also be outsourced t the cloud. Due to its vast capacity and the fact that the actual infrastructure is in a separate location, it economizes on space and the company does not have to purchase the storage equipment, especially for businesses that depend on seasons.

Their servers end up getting crowded during the peak seasons and the cloud service is a good way out. The cloud may also be a good platform for analyzing customer trends like what is most commonly accessed on the site and what products the clients prefer. The clients may also want to interact with the makers of the product and raise views on what changes they think would benefit them in terms of certain products. Through cloud computing, this can be achieved ensuring business success and goodwill maintenance.
