Winston Churchill – He was a statesman, writer, leader, and orator who was Britain’s leader during the Second World War.  He also served as Prime Minister (Conservative Party) from 1940 to 1945 and from 1951 to 1955. He was born in Oxfordshire and came from an aristocratic and rich lineage. He served in the Royal Cavalry in 1895 and during such time was also a part-time journalist.Khmer Rouge – This is a Cambodian communist armed group in Cambodia, gaining attention in the 1960s.

They are also considered a guerrilla group and are based in the mountainous regions of the country. After Prince Sihanouk was deposed in 1970, this group transformed into a political coalition, fast gaining support from the people and at some point was able to take over control of the nation in 1975.NATO – This is a military alliance led by the US and supported by countries in Western Europe. Through NATO, the US wanted to secure a strong, and also a military armed organization in the unit in order to prevent the rise and spread of communism in Europe.

Through NATO, military aid and economic plans were laid out for Europe and shared interests for the US and Western Europe were established.Mussolini – Born in 1883 in Italy, he later became involved in socialist politics and led Italy during the First World War. He was a former member of Italy’s army and also worked as a journalist. He founded Fascism in Italy and allied Italy with Germany and Japan in the Second World War.Luftwaffe – This is the aerial military power of Germany in the Second World War.

After their previous aerial units were disbanded prior to WWII, the Luftwaffe was reformed and became one of the strongest air force in the world. When Germany lost the war, this military unit was disbanded.1939 – This year marked the year when tension leading up to the Second World War was observed in both the Pacific and the Atlantic Region. Hitler treated the Jews at this time and started to take over some parts of Europe including Czechoslovakia. Alliances with Italy and Japan were also made by Germany and the European troops were soon overpowered by the advancing German forces.

  The Second World War would follow in the following year.
