We should study about the Middle East because we can learn from the trials and tribulations suffered over the last few thousand years. In addition to this, the Middle East is at the center of three continents: Asia, Europe, and Africa. This makes not only the land valuable, but also the trade routes that go through this region. This perhaps explains why there have been so many wars in the region and why there is still conflict there today. Middle Eastern culture has also greatly influenced the way that westerners think, such as through mathematics. The origin of western numbers is Arabic, and many mathematical concepts first originated in the Middle East. Looking towards the future, the situation in the Middle East is changing as local economies experience growth and the people want to have more of a say in the political process. Learning from these experiences can only help understand the western form of democracy.

The main factors that led to alliances in the corporate world are globalization and fierce competition from their adversaries.
