Anderson County School District 3 Election Research is very important for the identification of various issues present ina society. After time long research, I happened to settle upon Anderson County School District Three as the most suitable location to carry out my political research. Anderson County School District Three faces a local election procedure that involves two candidates, namely Danny Davis and Ray Graham. The particular poll was held on November 6 2012 and apart from the aspirants, the voters, too, had high expectations on issues regarding the voter and result turnout, which did not disappoint as it was indeed a success. Many may wonder what kind of job or task exactly the candidate is up for. Members of the Board are expected to consign themselves to regular turnout at Board meetings, which entails 3 half-day meetings and 1 full-day meeting a year at the school. It is expected that members serve on at least one Board committee, working group or occasional task force during their term of office. Board committees normally meet 3-4 times a year at the school. Members are encouraged to attend other events and activities that are held by the school, including Graduation Day in mid-September. Members may also be required to attend occasionally special activities to be held at schools, such as audit visits by outside agencies. The role is expected to require an average of 12 days annually, in addition to reading and travelling time. This is just but a tip of what the post entails. The school board exists to ensure that the mission of the school is attained. To do this, members of the Board need to keep themselves informed of progress in the school, higher education, and most significantly, the performance of the school. Members of the Board are expected to participate fully in the development of the school’s corporate and operating plans and to ensure proper allocation and use of the school’s resources in meeting the objectives of those plans is assured. Curiosity might be on the rise on what exactly Danny Davis and Ray Graham are contending for, or rather why each found it within their means to vie for an assistant governor’s position. Well, it is nothing other than to assist in the Governing Board of Anderson School District Three. It is rather clear to note what this means as the election winner had a straight seat in the Board Governing Anderson School. This would earn him control, which is noted as one of the key aspects that candidates always go for in a given election (Parker 29) In brief highlight of the candidates for these election posts comes the first candidate Danny Davis. Danny Davis is an IT technician, currently working as a transportation manager and a board member of the same school at present. On the other hand, our second man Ray Graham works in the Anderson County Sheriff’s Investigation Department. By this time, it might be true to conclude that Ray Graham commands larger grounds than his mate, and this might end up playing a vital role in the outcome of the elections. Both Danny and Ray are renowned members of the society and either of them can make a good governing assistant in the school board. This election is undoubtedly of great importance. First and foremost, each candidate has outspokenly laid out his points and what he intends to manifest once elected to the position. Just to point out one of each, Ray Graham intends to introduce the fair treatment of all kids in the district, in an equal manner, as opposed to fair treatment for a few as it may be said to be as of now. He also promised to ensure equal opportunities for all students in matters and issues concerning them. Ray Graham also promises to move Anderson County School District forward in matters pertaining to resources, teachers and the faculty’s need to educate their children at higher levels, allowing them to further their opportunities for success at completion of their education. Danny Davis, on his part, maintains that with the election outcome in his favor, he would move the school forward in terms of introduction of better study facilities inclusive of computers and other necessary machinery that would see to it that studying is made simpler and more captivating. He also intends to have the classrooms sized down in terms of how many students each class can comfortably fit, ensuring that the size is fair enough to see to it that every individual is at a position to learn adequately. Finally, Danny Davis, if elected, plans on ensuring there is hiring of experienced teachers as well as other members of staff. I crossed over and came to the voters’ points of view: Danny Davis’ supporters believe that giving Danny the vote as well as a chance to make the assisting Governor of the board is an expanded chance for their children to get the educational opportunities they deserve and desire. For those opting to vote for Ray Graham, who are mostly parents and school officials, together with business leaders, have the same opinion that with him, they can confidently feel their district move forward. The development is with the proper support and commitment from board members who want to see all students prepared at the end of high school to continue their education and advance to their highest capabilities in life. Both parties have their viewing endorsed by members of the board as well as other political figures giving each an ounce of extra courage and self-esteem to pursue the election confidently. The confidence candidates portray works to reflect on the voters as they gain some kind of assurance (Gill 71) Another factor that highly determines the result of the polls is how each candidate relates and utilizes the media in their respective campaigns. Ray Graham opted to use his posters as well as banners on street sides, pavements and business premises on individual yards too, to campaign for himself as the better candidate. On the other hand, Danny Davis is more confident with using billboards: currently, there are two major billboards in campaign for Danny and they are both attracting the attention of many. He has also used branded T-shirts, local advertising and newspaper media, too, to boost him a notch higher. From the researcher’s point of view, candidate Ray Graham has greater odds of winning the election since to the public eye, he is better known. He plays a more influential role in his campaign than his competitor Danny Davis. This is considering that candidate Ray Graham is employed by the sheriff’s department which the majority of people know is a busy department that receives major attention daily from the citizens. His wife, on the other hand, is a magistrate judge in the district. This puts her and her husband at a better position to interact with people while using their social positions. Also put into consideration before coming up with the opinion is that Ray is likely to win the election due to the fact that he is a local businessman who has several facilities in his ownership: Campbell’s Cafe which is a well-known cafe located in the same town as the school. He also owns multiple rental property, improving his chances of taking the victor’s title home at the end of the election. During this research, I personally took it upon myself to contact the candidates and get their direct views on matters concerning the importance of the election to each of them, to other members of the board, and to the public at large. Ray Graham, being the contender I had the privilege to talk to first, said that he had special attention paid to the treatment of kids with all intentions to rule out cases and instances of unfair treatment whatsoever against anyone. He also insisted that deterioration of the quality of education partly had the teachers to blame for, but with fair resources awarded to the teachers, this would be just but a thing of the past. Danny Davis, whom I talked to later, had a much similar view that providing the teachers with money and any other relevant supplies necessary would assure the provision of better services. Another issue that seemed adamant with both candidates was keeping the class sizes down to have a more individualistic approach to the kids.
