?Civil Rights in USA and California –Overview and Perspectives Introduction: Two related but different words can describe Civil rights. These civil rights can be exercised under civil laws and provides us security and various things like capability to contract. Civil rights are among the category of rights which are made to protect an individual and to provide him freedom so that he can live his life in his own style. These rights also protect the person form unjustifiable violation done by the private and government organization. You get an ensurity to get involve in political and civil life. These civil rights are made for safety and ensuring the physical integrity of the person like. Beside all these facts these rights protects you from many discriminations like gender, race, nationality, age, speech, mental or physical disability and many more things. By origin civil rights are the major part of global Human Rights. These civil rights are enforceable rights and they are entertained by other people also. This right can be use when you have to take some action against an injury. Some common examples of civil rights are freedom to speech, right to vote, right to equality in public places, press, freedom from involuntary servitude and many more. Example of civil rights: The famous example of civil rights in America is “civil right act of 1964”. This civil right act was the unique mark of legislation in United States. This act is used to outlaw segregation in schools, employment places and also the public places. This civil right was first conceived to aid African Americans. In this act people also raised their voices to protect women including white people also (George H. Rutland, 2001). Role of FBI agencies in protecting civil rights: A FBI agency is made to do investigation the violation of national law of civil rights. The FBI do his duty seriously because if there is any violation in the civil laws and if any person among us looses any right then the freedom of all of us will be drawn towards danger. Activities of US commissions for enhancing civil rights: US commissions is also doing a regular work on civil rights. The main aim of US commission is to do investigation of complains that are made by people. These complaints are made because many people’s are deprived because of their voting rights on the basis of their race, religion, color, sex, citizenship, age. These complaints are taken by US commissions and then a proper action is taken to solve the problems of a common people. Center of civil rights (CRS): CRC stands for Civil Right Center. This center of civil rights is for the enforcement and administration of different Federal statues, executive orders, regulations which are related to both equal and nondiscrimination opportunities. These three laws based on equal opportunity are: 1. A forbid discrimination based on disability. This law can be specified by different public entities like local and state government. It is also enriched with the programs organized and activated by DOL. 2. A forbid discrimination on different basis of programs and activities. This also receives a financial assistance from DOL or work investment act. 3. The discrimination of forbid employment within the DOL (George H. Rutland, 2001). Benefits of EEOC in civil rights: The civil right of EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) is very much popular. This civil right holds the responsibility that every employee or job applicant must receive equal employment without introducing the thoughts of religion, race, sex, color, age, nationality and disability. According to this civil right discriminating against any employee is also illegal. And if any person faces this situation then he can complaint for this and you can be fined heavily for this or have to face a lawsuit. This is a very strong civil right and because of this right people in America are working equally and are enjoying equal payments. Political book: According to political book of America civil rights are considered as normal rights of human being. These laws are established to increase the freedom and fairness across the country. Following are the important rights which are mention in the book of politics. Right to freedom of speech, assembly and religion: This civil right is used to amend the protection of citizens of a country. According to right to freedom of speech, assembly and religion the people can choose any religion in which they want to live and can speak any language. This civil right also gives you opportunity to arrange political gathering. Protection from any unreasonable investigations of their property and homes: This civil act describes that the unconditional investigation n anyone’s house or in anyone’s property is seriously illegal. Anyone can’t do investigation in your house without legal warrants. You can’t be arrest by police officers if they are not having arrest warrant against that person. Also there must be a strong reason for the arrest of person. If asked by you then police officer has to show the documents of the desired area of investigations. Protection of people against the abuse done by government: Many cruel employees of government misuse their power and tease common people. For this the government has made civil right in which a special protection is given to common people. The government has appointed police men for this task. Anyone who abused by any person can directly contacts police officers and can also file a legal complaint against these peoples. This civil right will stop people from misusing their powers (Kevern Verney, 2006). Right to public and speedy trial, trial by jury: This is the civil law in terms of procedural protection. According to this right all works are done in a speedy way and unreasonable delays are tried to eliminate from the official work. Protection of people from abuse done by federal government: Generally the Federal government misuses his position and power and abuse people in the form of excession in bails, fines, harsh and unreasonable punishments. Federal government is made to protect people from any illegal thing but the same federal government has become the means of abusing the people. You can also file complaints against these people also if they try to do any harsh behavior with you (Kevern Verney, 2006). Pros and cons of present competitive argument: Present competitive arguments of civil rules are same as in the past but the style of using them has changed. There are many advantages of using these Present competitive arguments. Some of them are: Many people are living their lives freely because of these civil rules. Gone are the days when people make differences between them but because of these civil rules people are enjoying equality in their country. Now there is no fight or violence because of inequality. People of different race, sex, color, age, nationality and disability who are working in a same firm are paid with equal income but before these rules all are paid unequally according to their race, sex, color, age, nationality and disability. Before civil rules women are abused by the country people buy now these women are working in the way in which men are working. All this alteration is possible only because of the development of civil rules. Today a person can raise his voice against any illegal act and if he is true then he will also be supported by many other people across the country. Proper law and order is made in the country. Today no one can investigate in you property and house without any legal warrant or court orders. Also police officers can’t catch a person without any arrest warrants. Now there is a situation in which all the country people are living freely and enjoying their lives (Caroline Taylor, 1985). Some disadvantages of present completive arguments are: There are many areas in the country in which people are not able to enjoy these civil rights because of many different reasons. Apart from all the civil rights the houses and property of people are investigated illegally because the government employees show their power for doing so. There are still many people who are not following these civil rights and because of this many common people have to suffer a lot (Caroline Taylor, 1985). According to my opinion in the area of civil rights, a person must follow the civil rights made by the government because these rights are made only for the protection of common people. There are many areas in which people are not following these valuable civil rights so proper steps should be taken by the people for solving this problem. When people are abused by people they go for a police complain but due to its powers police officers refuses to accept the complaints so the facility of proper complaint boxes should be provided in every area of the country and every person is allowed to post his complaint in the complaint box. Government should remain aware that the proper processing of these complaints is done by the government employees or not. Work Cited 1. George H. Rutland, Civil Rights in America, (2001), pp 130 2.
