Covid-19

Introduction

An individual’s health is a major issue towards their lifespan on earth. There is a need to pay attention to the respiratory organs as they have to be exposed to better air in the environment. There is a major blow to the health industry in the current generation as the covid-19 virus has affected or the economic sectors in the world. The entire population is in a panic over their health and survival techniques as foreign aid is one of the major players to their survival. The impact of this virus is, however, noticeable in every country irrespective of their development levels, as they rely on the medical teams to provide the required pieces of information regarding the country’s state of living.

The provided figures are then used in determining what particular strategy will be implemented by the country’s executive in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO) to save lives. Any mistakes from the involved teams are likely to cost the lives of an entire generation. These programs all impact the amount of money that will be injected into the health sector to improve the country’s living. This paper will, however, look into the Covid-19 virus and some of the related issues.

COVID-19

According to the WHO's information, Covid-19 is described as a communicable respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that causes illness among human beings. However, scientists are still learning about the disease, with one of the major conclusions stating that it originated from animals (Bai, Yao, & Wei, 2020). At a particular pint in life, one or more humans acquired the disease from animals, and these people started transmitting this infection to other human beings. It is further stated that this disease spreads from human to human through infected air droplets projected as an individual sneezes or coughs. An individual is likely to get infected once they get into contact with hands or surfaces that contain the virus and tough their eyes, nose, or mouth with their infected hands (Xu et al., 2010). The first case was reported in China in December 2019 and later spread throughout the world, calling for different approaches to curb the spread.

Incubation Period and its S&S

The incubation period refers to when the individual is exposed to eth virus and symptoms onset. It is further stated to be a period of five to six days but can be further stretched to two weeks. The attainment of such figures originates from over 181 primaries confirmed cases in Wuhan, China, providing the mean incubation. On the other hand, during this period, which is also termed the pre-symptomatic period, some infected individuals can be transmissible (Xu et al., 2010). Nevertheless, Covid-19 affects people in different ways based on their health conditions. For example, most infected persons are likely to develop mild to moderate illnesses and may recover without any acts of hospitalization.

One of the most common symptoms of this disease include; fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Less common symptoms include; sore throats, aches, headache, diarrhea, loss of taste, rashes on the skin, or the discoloration of the toes and fingers. Some serious symptoms include; difficulties in breathing, severe chest pains, and the individual losing speech or movement. These are the general S&S of the disease but will offer different responses depending on eth patient’s age, which further calls for a unique model of approach with reflex to the individual’s conditions (Xu et al., 2010). These patients need to seek immediate medical attention from a health facility once they have severe symptoms. They have to make a call before they visit the doctor of a health facility. On the other hand, people that display mild symptoms and are otherwise healthy can manage these conditions from home.

Provision of Care and Self-Protection

In most cases, the type of treatment is universal to every patient irrespective of the age but may call for different approaches depending on their immune systems. However, there are no specified treatment processes for the disease caused by a novel coronavirus. The majority of the stated symptoms can be treated, and therefore these treatments will vary based on the patient’s clinical conditions. When looking into self-care issues, any individual who may be feeling sick should take some rest, take plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious foods (Maurya, Kumar, & Saxena, 2020). There is a need to stay in separate rooms from other family members and can also rely on the use of dedicated bathrooms if possible. In the long run, clean and disinfect the regularly touched places. With regards to eth issues of medical treatments, any individual with mild symptoms is otherwise isolated, self-isolated, and contact a medical provider for assistance. There is a need to seek medical care once there is a feeling of fever, cough, or difficulties in breathing.

PPE for a Covid-19 Patient

Protective gear s one of the major tools that an individual/ patient should use to minimize the spread of this disease to other sections or regions in society. However, Who further claims that the recommended PPE for a Covid-19 patient is CONTACT and DROPLET precautions (Maurya, Kumar, & Saxena, 2020). There is an exception of aerosol producing procedures that will call for the need of CONTACT and AIRBORNE. The body further recommends that the PPE is considered to be part of a larger infection prevention and control bundle and will have to be implemented as part of the multimodal strategy management of coronavirus patients. On the other hand, only the clinical and trained staff will be permitted to enter the patient’s room.

Pharm and Non-Pharm Treatments

There are not drugs or alternative therapeutics that have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration that will help in the prevention of Covid-19. However, the current clinical management encompasses infection prevention, control measures, and supportive care that includes; supplemented oxygen and the mechanical ventilator support once indicated. However, the National Institute of Health has provided interim guidelines for the medical management of the coronavirus. These pieces of information contain investigational therapeutics that will later be updated as new content, drugs, and therapeutic interventions emerges and approved by the FDA.

Conclusion

There are numerous research practices that are being conducted to curb the spread of the coronavirus despite the fact that some countries are still being heavily affected by the illness. It is the mandate of the executives and medical institutions within a country to offer the latest pieces of information and precaution measures to keep their people safe. The implementation of this measure will help reduce the spread and also create an opportunity of resuming to the normal operations and improvement of the country’s economy. The disease has significantly affected the practices of trade and commerce around the globe.
